Bath Bridal Hair

I've waited to post this review, to ensure it is not emotionally charged by the wedding day. That it is fair and is factual.**turned into a bit of an essay**I will start by saying, hair on the day was nice. It looked good on pictures.- I had my trial over zoom; at MY request, as I do not live near Bath.- Photos of requested styles for bride & bridesmaids were provided months in advance & Sam advised this would be fine but best to buy some clips/headbands etc. This was good advice. Especially as two of us had dark hair, and the clips looked better on pictures- Sam agreed to style my hair using extensions (an evening wedding, so I requested a glam hair-down do) but she was quite forceful re my own salon cutting and curling the extensions (I found this very odd, as they would likely be clipped in slightly different places on the day. My salon thought the same and basically didn't want to do it either, so I ended up doing it myself)- Morning of the wedding, I didn't have signal, wasn't checking my phone (trying to enjoy the day) & didn't think to turn data calling on. Sam arrived early & was trying to ring me on WhatsApp. When let up, she let me know she wasn't impressed at not being let in immediately and the fact she had been calling me. She was actually ringing the wrong buzzer & when I mentioned this, she barked at me that she had been ringing the right one. N.B. it was clear where she needed to be & no other supplier had an issue. I felt quite uncomfortable & went to the liberty of showing her my phone to prove there were no missed calls. Equally, we were in the same room as the door buzzer, and no one heard it?!- She walked into the apartment, clearly miffed, without really saying hi to the wedding party & just started moving furniture around. There were no pleasantries. At all. Thank god for the fabulous makeup artist, who was very very sweet & diluted the situation somewhat. Needless to say, the entire wedding party felt uncomfortable from that point onwards- One side of the apartment had windows down it. Sam decided to sit us by the one in the corner of the room, facing the wall. My hair took two hours, during which time I dared not move, faced the wall. I did offer to move furniture initially but was told this was the best place for light. Despite one whole side being full of light.- Came to start the hairstyles & I was told 'I don't have time to do what you wanted.' and that she would do the best she could... so she did what she wanted. Bridesmaids, MoB & aunt had what they wanted though, so I decided it wasn't the end of the world- Myself & one of my bridesmaids spent at least one hour listening to her dating woes (I wish I was joking on this point)- MoB was upset. Never did tell me why but was told later it was because of Sam's attitude- My hair was falling out by the time I got to the ceremony (30 mins later) & I had to fix it myself (I used a small amount of hairspray, readjusted a pin & it was fine for the rest of the night). Yes it was a very hot day but this has never happened before & all makeup was fine.I really tried my best to be a good bride to all my suppliers. I didn't have an issue with any others (aside from the taxi that didnt turn up!). In fact, they were all absolutely amazing.Sam was offered drinks throughout the day, I brought in a nice buffet for suppliers to the apartment (never got a thanks or anything from Sam), and I tried to be decent to all. I really should have taken the hint at the Zoom trial that she didn't like me/or wanted to do hair for the wedding because everything from that moment was difficult.It's an exaggeration to say she ruined the time getting ready but her behaviour has become one of our funny wedding stories.So...- Minus one star for being generally rude- Minus one star for not doing the style I wanted, despite knowing numbers and styles months in advance.- Minus one star for being a b@*&h & upsetting my mum on the day of the wedding! Worst point of all!She knows some good makeup artists though!

In regards to my bridal hair, I was completely lost until I found Sam. Not only is she just lovely to be around, but she guided me through my confusion, towards realistic outcomes that worked within my vision and suited both me and my dress. She factored in staying power and different hair accessories for ceremony/evening, and her timing was spot on. I could not recommend her highly enough - she's an expert at the job. On a day as important as your wedding day, you need to be able to trust the person responsible for your 'image' before it is forever captured in time.

Sam is so incredibly talented. She was a very calming influence the morning of the wedding. She did my hair and also four other people and everything ran exactly to time. In the run up to the wedding her communication was great and everything was very clear. The hair trial was fantastic as she asked so many questions to really find out exactly what I wanted. My hair looked unbelievable on the day and it lasted until the very end despite a very lively Irish ceilidh! Thanks so much Sam! Alison

Sam did a wonderful job on my hair for my wedding in September - I had an up do which I never normally have, and Sam listened to my brief of wanting it to look as natural and organic as possible. I got so many compliments on my hair on the day, and was really happy with the result. She also did the hair of all my bridesmaids and they all looked gorgeous. I highly recommend Sam to anyone considering her for their wedding!
