Acorn Day Nursery, YMCA

If I could have given 6 stars I would have :)My daughter has been attending this Nursery after we moved up from London to Milton Keynes, I have been absolutely delighted with this nursery in every single way.Staff are professional, kind, caring and always are willing to go the extra mile for my daughter. I get a full run down of how the day has been and the activities she has engaged in at hand over.My daughter's food, toilet and nappy changes are always recorded on the app parents get access to as well as getting frequent updates and photos of my child doing activities which makes my day.The food is healthy and varied and my child never comes home hungry. Development through play and activities is a fundamental aspect to this nursery and I find this refreshing. My daughter's development is communicated to me very clearly and I like that my child's key person even suggests ways we can get involved and encourage further development at home.I would like to emphasise how much of a great job the manager and deputy manager does at this Nursery by keeping all the parents up to date and for providing such a great, fun and engaging place for my daughter to thrive. I would also like to give a shout out to my daughters Key Person and Room Leader who she loves !! She comes home and talks about her activities and how much fun she has had constantly.Thanks Acorn team Keep up the fantastic work !!

Wish I could give less than one star for this nursery.Its not all that bad, has a great and very friendly manager and some ladies are nice as well. They do some activities and take the babies out to explore.But in general would recommend to avoid this nursery if you want your baby to be looked after.On the app they always lie about what they eat, who knows what they give them, or more likely give nothing as she has lunch at 12:00 and they say she ate everything yet when we pick her at 13:00 she's absolutely starving all the time. (is it so hard to say that she ate nothing? At least we can bring some snacks.)On few occasion's we arrived to pick up the baby a bit early just to find that not only they ignored our request not to let her play with water, but also find her wet IN A WINTER COAT that they did not bother to take off for all day.We pick up the baby bruised and scratched and no one knows or sees how it happened, she's never cleaned, of course its hard to look after all of them, but if you let them play with paint, it would be common sense to at least clean the face before it dries, no? For the money we pay for the hours she did at the nursery we would expect some sort of care, cant be perfect of course not like ours at home, but none at all? That is just absurd.Would recommend to avoid, find another with hopes that its any better.

My daughter has been attending for nearly 4 months now. And she is thriving!They always follow any additional instructions I give to in regard to her care. She isn’t even 2 yet and beginning to use the potty and has the ability to have a conversation. Clearly and with a wide vocabulary.They ensure she is engaging and exploring following her interests. Sending constant pictures and videos for updates. Famly App is fantastic!She eats well every day to the point she doesn’t eat her dinner often at home after. They offer fruit with every meal and promote healthy eating and well-being.We love that they offer messy play constantly throughout the day. As well as free flow in the garden regardless of weather. My daughter especially loves sand and water play which they have out everyday.The staff are very caring and take pride in helping the children. We can see this in their excitement when they tell us any new achievements or accomplishments.The manager is the best! She is always hands on and in the rooms to support most of the time. Always willing to go the extra mile to build a relationship with us parents even though she has a busy and demanding job.Couldn’t recommend the nursery enough. I have been to a few nursery’s and this is by far the best!Natural resources, eco friendly, forest school once they reach 3. An all round great nursery. The manager should be very proud of her setting and team!
