Booked in for the night. We arrived earlier than check-in but they let us park in their car park which was great. The walk into the city centre took about 20 minutes or so. ( We wasn't walking fast). There is an open top bus stop very near the hotel if you purchase the open top bus tour ticket where you can get on and off at lots of stops round the city and listen to an audio tour of the city! The staff at the hotel were so friendly and welcoming. Went into Oxford for dinner but had a couple of drinks in the bar when we got back. Great service from the bar gentleman. The room was a double room and was plenty big enough. There is tea/coffee/water in the room along with a hairdryer and trouser press. The bed was very comfortable! Breakfast was really good with a wide selection on offer! Was cooked very well too! The young server was friendly and so helpful, bringing my son a box to put his pancakes in to eat later! A lovely little hotel and would definitely come again!!

As a group of 12, we were well looked after, with good space for afternoon tea and pre dinner drinks. The food was good. Only minor gripe was their disorganisation, eg forgetting afternoon tea. I think the Manager was away at the time

My friend and I were vacationing in the UK last week and we had reservations for a one night stay at the Cotswold Lodge. Shortly after checking in, I became ill. The staff was very helpful and arranged for me to stay three additional nights while I recovered. During my stay, everyone went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. If I ordered room service, I was always asked if I needed anything else such as bottled water. The front desk staff even called me on my second day, for no reason other than to check to see how I was doing. If I had to become ill on my trip, I am so thankful it was at this hotel. The room was comfortable, the food delicious and having the courtyard outside my room gave me the opportunity to get some fresh air when I needed it. The Cotswold Lodge is located in a lovely neighborhood within easy walking distance of Oxford University. I recommend it highly!

Ideal location for our needs. Car park and walking distance to city centre. Room was good and pleasantly warm, which was important as we were there during the a cold spell. Good breakfasts. Staff friendly. Left something in my room when I left this morning, which was very important to me. Got a call from the hotel and arranged to get it to me this afternoon. Excellent.

Just returned from Oxford (family wedding) I cannot recommend The Cotswold Lodge Hotel enough. Above all the staff. Walking distance from the city, breakfast amazing and our room fantastic with a six foot bed. Well done Cotswold Lodge..

We stayed 2 nights during the summer. The room on the ground floor had hot pipes running through the floor to the extent that the room temperature was >30°C at night even though it was <16°C outside. The room couldn't be cooled. Keeping the front door open through the night (as the rest of the hotel was a normal temperature) made it bearable, but sleeping was not an option for either night. A hotel where it's too hot to sleep cannot charge £250 per night. The staff was nice but wouldn't move us to another room or compensate in any other way.

Very beautiful rooms, although warmer that normal temperatures meant it was a difficult sleep. I found that a cold bath was the only way to bring core temperature down before bed. Food was good, although we only ate breakfast. Staff was friendly although a bit hurried and stressed. Maybe the heat? A lot of guests?

A lovely get away for staying near Oxford. It's only about 7 minutes to Oxford centre by car.The hotel is in good condition and well maintained, and clean. The room was perfectly adequate with a very smart marble en suite bathroom with shower. There was no fridge to my surprise but that was no issue. The bed was very comfortable and it was suitably warm throughout our stay. The service was very good with breakfast staff that were friendly and helpful. The main reception staff were also efficient but friendly. The rooms were cleaned and turned down well when you requested it to be done.We very much enjoyed our stay here. I would definitely come back again another time.

Lovely vintage hotel with superior personal service. The manager, Adrian, is a gem! He personally served us to the room as well as coffee!

Although I only attended a lunch meeting here (Rotary Club of Oxford) it was very pleasant and the food was excellent. A nice old style hotel in a good location. There is parking but it's on a first come first served basis.
