Recently ate here and have to say that I was unimpressed with the food and service for what we paid. Food was mushy and substandard, service was lacking. We waited a long time for our food. When it arrived it wasn’t good. We had to ask to have the table cleared between courses on a number of occasions. On some positives, the atmosphere was nice and it had a nice feel but unfortunately I wouldn’t visit again.

10/10 friendly staff and amazing food. We didn't book on a very busy day and they moved things around so we could be seated and enjoy a lovely dinner. Staff were so kind even boxing up some food for our dog! Michelle is amazing and the reason we will return!!!

Recently been refurbished. Beautiful traditional town pub and hotel. Good food, good drinks and nice lounge. Ben runs a tight ship and always at a high standard. Nice beer garden out front as well

Breakfast with Santa - Shocking!Ready disappointing experience for kids and the whole family: our booking was at 9:15 an hour later Santa has finally decided to get changed and show him self in a very un-engaging manner, went round the tables giving kids a book as a present and then stood outside of restaurant waiting for anyone to come round to take pictures. Clearly doing it for the first time. No activities for kids, no music and food was not great either. We got charged the same £12 fee for one slice of toast and 2 eggs on it - so basic (toast not even buttered) and tasteless. Tried to calmly explain to the staff that we were not happy with the food and experience but their customer facing employee got very defensive and was not trying to help at all, which resulted in a heated argument. Left very disappointed for ourselves and especially for the kids!Advice: go to other places and see how it’s done properly

The hotel is under refurbishment, the room I stayed in was complete and done to a very high standard. Nice little touches with usb sockets next to the bed. Food was delicious. Staff are friendly and attentive. Cant wait to visit again.

Amazing Sunday Roast, one of the best we’ve had! Vegan options as well which are always appreciated and so full of flavour. Fire going which a great touch. Staff incredibly helpful and friendly. The staff are an asset to the company, thank you!

Since this place reopened it has improved beyond all expectations. Ambience and atmosphere is warm and friendly. The food we have is consistently tasty with lots of choice and definitely recommend the Sunday roast and caramel cheesecake which is delicious and has the taste of home cooked. The managers Michele and Paul are also so friendly and welcoming and The Ethorpe pub/hotel/restaurant is now in our view leading the many eateries in Gerrards Cross for the eating experience, choice, value and customer service. Well done. 5/5.

I'm local to this place, visited after their renovation, it looks fresh. Nice decoration. The outside garden looks amazing now. The covered area is a nice touch for those that like to stay outdoors. Maybe you could add some music :) . Drinks were quite expensive.

Only went for dinner, food was nice it was very busy but then it’s Xmas. Some of the staff were on the ball and making sure everyone was ok whilst others seemed to be on a social hang out besides that I will go again.
