(August 22). Lovely place, good facilities; v. nice Tiptree Cafe, small garden shop, large grounds/gardens, nature areas, growing impressive veg/fruit etc, historical displays + info, picnic area, & events etc, & of course the stunning barns themselves..

Fabulous. Fantastic. Free! It's worth a look. I've lived in Essex for over 45 years and, like everyone else, never really seen what's local to me, until retirement. Amazing

I've visited this lovely historical site on both a craft fair weekend and a normal open day. Both were good ways to see the barns. It is wonderful to see the innards of these beautiful buildings. It's always intriguing to try to understand how they were built, how the trees were cut for it, how the carpenters put the connections in the right places, and so on.The recent craft fair run by Charles Owens Event was very well done. Three marquees full of craft and artisan stalls. Lots of food for hungry bellies having spent a lot of pennies. They also used the barns, which were quite atmospheric. On a usual open, the quietness of the location is a treat. The Tiptree cafe (one of several around Essex) is well placed and good menu.

Lovely place to have a walk and visit the gardens. Small selection of plants for sale too, either by cash or you can scan a QR code to pay by PayPal. We had lunch in the tea room which was delicious!

It's just a really nice place to visit, the walled Tudor garden is great and the buildings amazing. We dropped in expecting to stay about an hour and left three hours later. One of the unexpectedly best places we've visited.

Great if you like history restoration and architecture. Gardens too are beautiful.Lots of information to read.Could do with dressed mannequins and some artefacts for younger day visitors for more interesting visual stimulation. Other than on event days.

Donation Based Visit.26.09.2023This place is steeped in history the barns are very interesting especially the roof construction and the walled garden is beautiful. The cream tea in the restaurant was so tasty. The loos are clean and tidy. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Lovely place, quiet and so much history. Free parking and free entry. Payment for plants is via PayPal app. Cafe was pleasant, must get busy I think as many tables were reserved for lunch. Really glad we went!

Cressing Temple Barns is a destination in its own right, but in all honesty often when I visit its because it is hosting an event of some kind - most recently a book / reading festival for families. The car park is large, and overflows into the adjacent field area. From the car park you can see the entrance which takes you into the grounds area or into the Tiptree tea room cafe. The grounds itself has the wheat and barley barns, the lovely walled gardens, plus a few other areas to wonder round - when events rae on, all areas tend to get used, which is great as ut means it snot all jammed up together. Catch a nice warm day, and there are picnic benches and trees to chill under.A nice place to visit, even more so if there is an event that takes your interest!!
