Looking for a pub and found this little gem, atmosphere was great, friendly locals and pub is dog friendly. We met another Sandy dog who was so cute! Jukebox has a great mix of tunes

I loved my visit to the Lantern. The Lyver was my go to bar in Dumfries in the 90s. I went for the crowd, not the health and safety! Anyway, everything has been retained in the reopening. The pictures on the walls, the friendly folk but with a lovely clean toilet that doesn’t have mushrooms growing from odd places. Bravo to whoever saw it was worth keeping.

Fantastic place to meet friends and have a great night out no need to go else where as it has a great atmosphere. It offers great value for money has live music most fridays and some times Sunday afternoon and the staff are amazing

Lived in Dumfries all my life and this is by far the best service and atmosphere I’ve had ….. ever . Highly recommend for people wanting a down to earth pleasant service . New local for the forseable futureMichelle and Pete I love you x
