Poppets Dog Training

My husband has been taking part in Rachel's group juvenile puppy classes with our Australian Labradoodle. I go to watch to support him and to be an extra pair of ears to take in the information. Rachel is super friendly and patient with dogs and owners alike. She has an answer to help you through every scenario you can think of. We didn't initially think training classes were our thing before we attended, but we have really enjoyed attending. Everyone in class is encouraged to be supportive of each other. Nobody is made to feel like their dog is the worst dog in class. Our dog was actually the class clown for a while (our words, not Rachel's) and we were reassured she was fine, that all pups hit bumps in the road. The classes have been really good for Izzie to interact with other dogs of all sizes. Rachel has really helped us through the adolescence phase where most dogs lose their way as they turn into a typical teenager. But we are now back on track and can honestly say that the Bonkers dog that we lovingly referred to her as, is actually becoming an amazing dog that we're so very proud of. We have also had a couple of 1:1 classes with Rachel which we can also recommend. We are planning to introduce a second pup to our family next year and already planning that it will also attend Rachel's classes.

Rachel has been invaluable in helping us with our 3-year-old Yorky, Buddy. As a lockdown pup, Buddy missed much of the essential socialisation dogs need, leaving him nervous around other dogs. Rachel has guided us at various points throughout Buddy’s development, helping us deal with; our first puppy (chewing, toilet training, etc.), through the juvenile phases, and now onto helping us socialise him as an adult dog.Rachel is quick to put us at ease when dealing with any new challenge and is never judgmental. She is a compassionate dog trainer who, rather than chastising the dog, teaches kindness and working with their natural behaviours. Our walks are now significantly more enjoyable, and Buddy is a healthy and happy dog. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough.

We got in touch with Rachel after looking for a different avenue of training for our puppy and started having some 1:1 sessions, and it’s a decision I’m glad we took. From the start Rachel was very professional and friendly and it was evident that she clearly knows her stuff. It didn’t take long for the methods she gave us to start getting results, and she is very encouraging towards both us and the dog.Following each session she sent a detailed email with written guidance about what had been covered in the session which is very helpful to look back on if you’re unsure or forget after she’s gone.We’ve been working with Rachel for approximately 4 weeks and are over the moon with progress we’ve seen from what she has taught us. We’ve signed up to a class that she runs so that we can do training around other dogs and people, and I’m sure that once that is over we will definitely use Rachel’s services to further our dog’s training,I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anybody looking for help with training their dog.

Rachel has been helping us with our reactive rescue dog Rocky for several months. She has made a huge difference to our lives. She has given us the confidence to tackle Rocky's many issues and and to help him overcome his anxiety with people and dogs. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to anyone who has any issues with their furry friend. (Rocky adores her too!)

Rachel was fantastic with our Cocker Spaniel Ziggy, in just 3 sessions working on various things, we really feel our dog has turned a corner and feel so much more confident in training him! Could not recommend her enough.

Rachel has helped me a lot with my reactive sausage dog, Poppy. After just four sessions with her, I went from dreading walks to enjoying them. Rachel is always calm and in control, and she explains things very well. All sessions are followed up with instructions by email to ensure I understand everything. Poppy has improved so much since we started working with Rachel. I have already booked more sessions with her for the new year to make sure I don't fall back into bad habits. Thank you, Rachel!
