The Knaresborough Inn
Lovely refurbished hotel; rooms are comfortable, breakfast excellent.Dinner menu disappointing. Tempura batter ought to be light sadly this was thick masking the flavour of the seafood. Being served a cider in a closed bottle was - disconcerting especially as we were asked if we wished a glass for it.Generally the drinks were expensive - more so than we expected; £11.45 for a pint and a half cider? Music was somewhat loud but did cease just after 11pm.

This hotel is fantastic. We recently spent a long weekend in Knaresborough to celebrate my parents Golden wedding anniversary and we chose the Knaresborough Inn because they allow dogs to stay. The reception was welcoming and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. My brother's dog was welcomed and never passed up a chance of a fuss.My parents aren't too great on their feet, but we requested a room on the ground floor and we were given excellent comfortable brand new rooms close together in the new part of the hotel.Would definitely stay here again, the staff definitely did everything to make us feel welcome and satisfied.

Had my birthday meal here on Sunday, the food, interior and service was a 10/10 and made for the perfect evening. Our server was lovely, very attentive, and ensured I had a great birthday meal (believe his name was Harvey). The general atmosphere was brilliant, will be recommending and returning.

A pleasant location, not busy, so food came quickly, peaceful and staff attentive.I suspect it won't be the case in busier times.Food was hot, and the presentation good. My meal (cod in batter in a brioche bun with chips) was tasty, but quite greasy. My colleagues (beef in a sandwich with chips), seemed nice, but it was difficult to pour her gravy into her sandwich.

Very convenient new hotel. Staff were great, the room was really clean and bed was very comfortableStaff were excellent and helpful. Free beer voucher in place of having your room cleaned and the food was absolutely delicious.

This hotel has recently re-opened following refurbishment to a very good standard. The bar and restaurant is open to both guests and the general public. Our stay could have been marred by a radiator failing to work in our room, but the staff could not have been more apologetic or responsive, locating a temporary electric heater and offering a complimentary drink. Customer focus to the fore and if this standard is to be maintained all bodes well for the future. Good wishes to all concerned.

I chose this hotel to visit York Christmas market, just a few minutes walk to the station with frequent trains for the short trip to York.Recently refurbished to a high standard the public areas and rooms were very comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and professional making me feel welcome.Good choice at breakfast time. This hotel is a much better option than York itself or to visit Knaresborough and I can certainly recommend it.

My parents where moving house and we needed a local hotel to stay in. (This used to be the Dower House but has changed hands). The hotel has been fully renovated all new bedrooms so super clean and nicely done. The bar/pub is lovely and super dog friendly which was important for us. We ate there and it was very busy but still did not wait long and the food was excellent. A shout out to the staff running it that night they were amazing, serving, smiling and chatting to the guests.

To review..in the modern idiom! What's NOT to like! The original Dower House was a delight! The 'Phoenix that has arisen from the 'ashes' deserves praise for creating a destination that is significantly different..whilst maintaining the original values and culture of the previous Emporium! The issue with tripadvisor is that it rapidly becomes a portal for the whingers and whiners to document their pathetic gripes! This is and has been my GOTO for many years! It is great!Fabulous facilities! The loveliest 'staff'.Great food! What a lovely addition to the Knaresborough scene!

Very busy but got served and seated no problem. Food arrived and was really good. Fish and chips and steak pie. Both beautifully cooked and very full plates. Reasonable prices too. Decor and surrounding really nice. Definitely be back because the pizzas looked amazing
