The secret of excellent work restoring stained glass or a painting is that no-one notices what has been done, even those very familiar with the item.This is exactly the reaction of the congregation at Crich St Marys Church to the repair of one of our stained glass windows.Ian Freshney's work was first class, cost effective, and carried out very efficiently. Ian restored our stained glass panel. Very good communication from start to finish. He matched up and replaced any pieces of broken glass and fitted the panel back in, the end result is amazing! Iain was amazing, my church had suffered some football damage on one of the big windows. After initial contact Iain came out and advised us, and quickly and efficiently fixed it for us. He's done a lovely job of the glass and the use of the lime mortar was brilliant too. Easy to deal with, quick to respond and amazing results. Would definitely recommend.

Stained GlassSt. Helen’s Church, Great OxendonSt. Helen’s Church has a very beautiful stained glass window commemorating two young men from the village who lost their lives in World War 1.Over the years the window had sustained some damage and prior to 2018 – 100 years anniversary of the end of the War – we wanted to get it repaired.Ian Freshney from M.E.Stained Glass was asked to carry out the work. The window was completely removed to be repaired. This involved replacing and repainting some small pieces of glass and mending small holes. The window was also cleaned and general restoration carried out.At the end of October 2018 the window was replaced and new screens fitted. The window now looks amazing and very beautiful.The work undertaken by Ian was excellent. Ian was also very patient having to wait a considerable time for both the grant from the War Memorials Trust to be finalised and the Faculty from Peterborough to be confirmed. This ended up being a very lengthy project with many queries needing to be answered which Ian was happy to do covering all points raised in detail.I would happily recommend Ian and cannot fault the work he did.The window was rededicated in November 2018.

Ian responded promptly to our enquiry about a repair. He was extremely knowledgeable and offered very good practical advice about the repair to a set of door window panes, which also had cracks in the lead that had been weakened over time. The quality of his repair was outstanding and was completed swiftly. We would definitely recommend and will use this company again.
