Europcar Belfast City Airport

Rented a car which broke down after less than 15 miles and the company is attempting to hold us accountable. This is after it took nearly two hours of being put on hold just to be sent to another line to be put on hold to be transferred again. We had broken down in a busy intersection with no ability to pull off the road and NO ONE would escalate our case or send a tow truck. After two hours, we finally got a tow, and then absolutely none of the costumer service people could tell us info on where to tow to. We towed to the airport simply because we made a choice so that the tow driver could move on. All of this ended up making us miss the first half of a pre-paid tour worth about $100, and then we had to pay about $70 for a cab to make it AFTER CLOSING to the rest of our tour (worth about $200) , which we only managed to get to keep because that manager stayed half an hour late for us.It has been five days since they put in their claim with ZERO contact with updates at all, despite us emailing them twice. Neither the home phone nor my cell phone works with the customer service number we were given.Lost over 4-5 hours of our trip, over $200 , only had a functional car for about 15 minutes, and I believe they will try to charge me for $2000 after giving us a non functional car. Have received NO updates or replies.I would never go anywhere near this company. It will ruin your vacation.

A friend of mine who was doing the driving for our holiday broke his arm and could not drive before our trip and the company we booked with would only let us take another car out 5 times the price so I went to Europcar who were great fast understanding (as it was last minute booking) and they helped us out on the spot with a great car for a great price. Will definitely use Europcar on my next adventures. Highly recommend! Clean tidy and very professional.

Without doubt and by a long long way, the worst car hire experience I have ever had. Argumentative and hostile kid on desk spent an age looking for loopholes in the fine print to try not to give me my pre booked and paid for car. Car stank of sickly air freshener for first hour then the heavy smell of stale cigarettes came through. Car itself was a bucket. No one in kiosk to check car on return. Now almost 2 weeks after the return i get a letter claiming damage.Other car hire firms are available at this airport.

Had a booking number and confirmation. Made the booking over the phone. Get to the desk to pick up our car and are told there is no car for us and there’s nothing they can do for us. They have overbooked cars. Horrendous service. No help.

Your staff at Belfast City Airport are awesome. Their friendliness helpfulness and professionalism will see me be a Europcar customer again in the future. The original staff member at the counter and the returns guy were both lovely.I'd just returned a rental that day and was due to fly to London with BA and the BA IT problem saw me in Northern Ireland another day and no hotels within 30 mile radius of Belfast. So back to the Europcar counter and the lovely guy on duty was so kind and patient, and of course got back on the road and I was off to stay with my aunt 30 miles away

Super,as usually kindly staff,all staff very helpful (Dean too).Cars excellent.Very recommended.

After a horrific experience at Sixt, the world's most lovely man & Europcar Employee of the Year, Dean, rented us a beautiful car for our friend reunion around Northern Ireland! Our Easter Weekend was saved because of the kindness and flexibility Dean showed us in a moment of true crisis at the rental car counter, cannot recommend enough.

Travelled a few times to Belfast for work recently and I’ve met the same two gentlemen, both at the counter and outside in the pod. Very friendly and efficient in getting me to my hire vehicle. Cars have been great to get around in and no trouble when returning. Thanks for the service!

Tried to lie and say i owed 7 liters of fuel, I spent an hour on the phone, turned out I was right and they made an error and issues a refund!!shameful, terrible customer service i would avoid at all costs

DO NOT TAKE AN UPGRADE.. booked on line £32 for a day. Offered an upgrade for £88 total.. good deal I thought so said okay. Got the invoice on my card statement for a combined total £171. Been on the phone with Europcar now 4 times over the past 3 weeks and still 0 (ZERO) communication or money returned to my account. In addition the car broke down with Oil level fault that I needed to fix myself which costed me an hour and a suit at the dry cleaners. Bad customer service. Bad business practice. No accountability. I will update this if I ever get contacted from #Europcar Belfast City Airport
