Nutmeg and Thyme Plant Based Food

Found this fantastic little cafe / deli whilst searching for somewhere to eat in Burford.I really can't recommended it highly enough.We had focaccia sandwiches, one with roast pulled oyster mushrooms and pea pesto, the others with garlic roasted artichokes and whipped leek, tahini and butter beans.They were honestly the best sandwiches I've had for a while.They do a range of other things such as salads, pastries, cake etc. and a range of delicious looking homemade frozen meals.The cafe doubles up as a deli with shelves of ingredients, sauces, crackers etc. and a fridge with artisan cheeses.Everything happens to be vegan and gluten free, but it shouldn't put meat and dairy eaters off, as the food is great and different to so much of the samey food around.Still can't get over the focaccia was gluten free.I took pictures of the food but it didn't do it justice.Plant based, vegan

A lovely little cafe in an atmospheric, cosy courtyard in the centre of Burford. Went for lunch and there were several options. I tried the frittata (vegan) and both of the daily salads. Everything was delicious and the service was very pleasant. I had a very good hot chocolate too (it was made with melted dark-chocolate and cinnamon, a nice touch). I will definitely return - in fact I’m looking forward to it.

Great little place. Found nutmeg and thyme whilst searching for vegan places in the Cotswolds and I’m so glad I did. Bought a few bakery bits and pieces and a homemade freezer meal (oyster mushroom ragu). We had the ragu for lunch today and it was one of the tastiest dishes I’ve had in a while. My 1 year old couldn’t get enough of it either. I can’t wait to go back and try some of the other meals!

I was considering in between of one of the salads which honestly did not have a good appearance , and one of the sandwich, considering they were all vegan and gluten free. So i decided to try them both.I am someone who eats extremely clean and loves unprocessed, gluten free and possibly organic food. So I have tried many places..Maybe I had the wrong choices but the sandwich which was made with milet bread and the filling mushrooms and mashed peas was def not a good choice lack of flavour and seriously the filing was so basic and poor, that I felt all I had was the bread bun. The salad also unfortunately mixed quinoa and some peas etc had no flavour or a good appearance. Very disappointing when the price is also quite dear!

Absolutely loved this little gem. Discovered when we were visiting on holiday. Would highly recommend. Amazing food. The owner has such passion for the food she serves. Well worth a visit.

We came across this absolute gem of a place on our last visit to Burford, and it really was the highlight of our day. The customer service was wonderful - so warm, friendly and helpful - and the food was incredible. We sat in and had fresh soup and breads, and then had great fun choosing an array of breads and cheeses and preserves to try at home. Neither of us are vegan, but it was the selection and quality of the products that really sold it for us. Can't wait to visit again on our next trip to Burford.

Cute vegan café with delicious foods including miniature loaf shaped mango muffin which was delicious. All kinds of vegan products to buy as well.

Really love this cafe, such a hidden away gem to come across. Such a great range of options - I have been a few times and each time everything I've had has been great. Both the savoury and sweet stuff are delicious. I had to buy some extra to take with me.Oh, and it's all (mostly) vegan, gluten free, naturopathic....Incredible! I wouldn't have no idea if I hadn't been told. Without a doubt the best vegan & gluten free food I've come across. You can buy frozen meals to take home as well, such a great idea!It's tucked away off the main street in Christmas court so that you are not sat next to the traffic. It's very cute a cosy, surrounded by locally made bits and bobs to look at.Highly recommend. Get some mango cake and a tahini cookie if you go!
