I had extreme difficulty of getting support regarding to my tohracic spine pain and struggles to walk. After a year of asking for MRI finally someone offered me that and what they did is inconceivable and afterwards I received reduced care to none. On the scans someone didn'[t put markers showing distances between vertebraes so instead of addressing that on their side they just ignored the thin discs problem which causes my bakbones to grind against eachother. They missed 3 split cracks of 3 vertebraes which due to widening in that spot caused compression of the nerve ganglions and some of those nerves died and I no longer feel skin around my spine. They refused to acknowledge this, told me that people don't feel any pain if they even would have it (which is just a dnieal as eople come forward about issues like that saying it's horrible to live with this). SO I was told there's nothing they will do about it and I'm stuck at home with excruciationg pain of my back for years now. Without an option to follow up.Another thing is about the neurology Proffesor of University and his minions other doctors. He refused to offer me a particular scan called CT / MRI Angio, cancelled a referral from my GP for a doppler of my artery in my neck as I'm experiencing stroke like symptoms and I have diplopia, meibiomian gland dysfunction and swelling fo the eyelids causing dry eyes to the point I have damaged cornea suggesting problems with hypothalamus or central nerous damade to a stroke I had after they injected me testosterone - due to narrowing of the vessel like dissection of the carotid artery at the base of skull which looks like it on the scans. Their department on an initial appoiontment said they will offer me a referral to Stroke Team and after that the didn't do it so when I called to ask where we are with this - they lied that wasn't everf the case. NHS liability team after a year of complaining said they aren't taking any responsibility there. Now I have a dent on top of my head and turns out I was right about my problem which I documented well. This is the reality of many who have narrowing of the vessels inside head and they aren't offering those particular tests to people naming the problem as 'migraines' and sending people home despite diplopias. I was told that even if I have an aneurysm - people live with aneurysms so they won't offer me clipping / stenting service for this issue and I was dismissed with extreme headadches every day and numb right side of my face with a eyerbow nerve partially paralysed now. The way this department describes neuroscience is showing lack of understanding of anythign else than central nervous system standalone - like there's no blood supply issues addressed causing brain malfunction so they aren't aware of that here. Long story short - they are heavily behind the standard of care even than poorer countries. Horrible experience and selective approach to whom they will help and not bsaed on things like nationality, sex, looks and even occupation or martial status. This is my experience and I have docummentations and soon evidence to come out with this. They know every single person and they are deciding if that person will live or not, and quality of service offered or not offered at all. They are using wrong scans to address vascular problems in the body and I already eady have a confirmation from a neurosurgeon not tied to this corrupt NHS system. If you raising your concerns you are being told that you are abusive and this NHS has a tactic of dealing with people who are demanding appropriate standards of care and they are being shot down. If someone has private health insurance they are being offered appropriate examinations which is just a basic discrimination due to how wealthy you are.I had a fallout with thehat department due to their denial and that reduced healthcare so what that professor did is he wrote a letter to other departments to not offer me help with my problems and I was left without any support.

I recently had a CT guided nerve root injection in my lumber spine. The radiologist was outstanding the way he explained everything to me before my procedure which put me at ease. He was patient, professional, so kind and clearly knows his stuff as the sensations he described that I will likely feel throughout the procedure, was 100% accurate. For the first time in years, I feel amazing and almost pain free and it's only been 3 days since the procedure! I can walk at least double the distance I could before, stand so much longer and climb stairs without feeling burning pain searing through my thighs or lower back, I'm just blown away with the improvement. The whole team from my advanced practitioner , the watchful eye of my neurosurgeon, physio and now the injections given has been a turning point for me in getting my life back without this constant pain and stiffness. I just hope it lasts a while. I feel fantastic thanks to this amazing team of dedicated professionals. Thank you so much.

Outstanding attention from all nursing staff in ward 130, the neurosurgeon and the surgical team. Nice big private rooms in the ward. Even the food was good!My father paid for private surgery at Spire Murrayfield and didn’t receive anywhere near the quality of service I received here. Extremely grateful for our NHS and everything they do!
