Very friendly hosts, we were made to fill welcome from the moment we walked through the door. Rooms were clean and spacious and had a very good night's sleep. Would recommend staying here. Thank you John and Keith.

Stayed here for a week while working away, lovely atmosphere and John and Keith are class, can have a great laugh! Good beer, good food, good room, can't fault it at all, and looking forward to getting back there in a couple weeks!

Good food and good, friendly service. Went for the Sunday carvery. 4 meats to choose from on the day, my gammon and turkey were both really nice. Wife had the veggie option, which was beetroot and butternut squash wellington, which she reported as lovely.I haven't rated the rooms because I didn't stay. Unless you are lucky enough to live in the small hamlet that it's in, you would need to drive, so bear that in mind, but the car park is large enough. It even has EV charging if you need it.

Came here for a meal to round off our holiday, not disappointed! Food was superb (especially the desserts!),staff were very friendly & attentive.Met the emus & learnt a lot about them from the very friendly & knowledgeable young man who keeps them.Will definitely return if ever in this area again.

We booked a table here for 7 for my wife's birthday- only the day before (our fault) but they were very accommodating, even when we called to change the time on the day.We were greeted by Steph, at the bar, who was very friendly- she took our drink orders and showed us to our oversized table, and then took the order flawlessly (memorised.)The menu was largely traditional British pub food, which was what we were expecting.There was one small omission when the food arrived, but it was rectified quickly and without any fuss.And the food... was great. Simple food, done very well. Triple cooked chips were a clear highlight, as was the steak on the mixed grills - tasty and cooked just right.Very unpretentious, but excellent anyway.

Popped in for lunch today after going out for a walk round tamar lake. Was not dissapointed with the food here, we had gammon eggs and chips with a small side salad, the pie of the day (beef and ale) with chips and a couple of all day breakfasts (comes with two slices of toast). All the food was excellent and served very quickly. Very good place to stop for food.

Understaffed. Bar maid was struggling on her own. Not impressed with the carvery. Watery gravy, mushy veg, roasts were OK, meat was good. Not very organised and kept running out of the food. There is no guidance on when to go up to get food and left waiting with no staff in sight. There was one stroppy staff member who was rude to customers. Couldn't fault the one bar maid or the lady cutting the meat. They were polite and friendly.Edit: The table was booked for 12.30 for 9 of us, and they were running out of food. Not at the end of service like the owners have suggested. Nice of them to offer free meal but won't be returning.

We went on a Wednesday so it was quite quiet, we were a party of 7 and so there was a variety of food eaten. All of us enjoyed our meal , even our fussy teenagers loved their meal. The chunky crispy chips are really really good

Excellent food. Donna our chef/waitress went over the top when it came to helpfulness and consideration, she worked like a trojan.Will definitely eat there again in the new year.
