Nice food, and good service. Enjoyed the tuna and crab toastada and the sweet potato in hot sauce.Found the mushroom and aubergine dish a bit salty.Good food, but just lacked a wow factor to earn 5 stars.

Zapote is a true gem. Every dish was a delicate masterpiece that was both delicious and perfectly presented. The service was simply impeccable, with the staff being incredibly attentive and responsive to our needs, without ever being intrusive or disturbing. It was an experience that left us feeling truly satisfied and wanting to come back for more. Highly recommended.

This is such a great place! In many ways it reminded us of the many tapas bars we've been to in Spain (yes, it is a Mexican restaurant, not Spanish). A myriad of small dishes, nice atmosphere, good drinks. We decided to go on a whim, and we didn't regret it! The burnt corn dish stands out in my memory, my spouse was all about the tartar.A funny thing - when we arrived there were no free tables, so we inquired about the bar, which was free. And it stayed free (apart from us) throughout the whole evening. Why is that? Do Londoners hate sitting on the bar? That's the best place in the restaurant! Anyway, if there are no free tables, don't despair - ask about the bar. Ask about it even if there are free tables. And order the corn!

Our visit to this restaurant showcased a commitment to quality ingredients, marred by an overabundance of salt and portion sizes that did not quite align with the price point. While the culinary foundation is solid, there is a lot of room for refinement in the execution.

Absolutely loved this place. An excellent small plates Mexican restaurant and bar with good service and cocktails. Its in a cool part of London, in which its not easy for a restaurant to differentiate itself. I think Zapote has managed to do just that.We came here for dinner on a Saturday night. We booked late so could only get a table for 6:00, which is a bit early for us on a Saturday night. We arrived early (I do like a snifter before dinner) and were the first in the restaurant. We were quite worried that there would be no atmosphere and would regret booking for such an early dinner. As it happens, the place soon started to fill up and there was a great buzz about the place.Theres a large restaurant and a drinks/snack area. Great decor. The menu is excellent. We were advised that for the three of us, six courses would be plenty. Honestly… we struggled to narrow it down because there is so much interesting stuff available. That said… six plus desert is enough. The wine list is pretty good. Not bad prices and a decent selection. Nothing one would define as “fine wine” but certainly good enough. The food is really interesting and well presented and prepared. Personal favourites were the lamb skewers, spicy chorizo and pork belly but thats not to say the other dishes were anything other than lovely. Do save room for desert, you will kick yourself if you don’tService was excellent. You’re not looked after by the same person all night and sometimes that can mean you don’t get any connection. Not so in this case. The staff were super friendly, good fun and knowledgable. Most impressive though was their enthusiasm for the business. Its only been open a few months and all of the staff were keen to talk about the business and seemed genuinely excited about its prospects - that says a lot about the owners/management as well as the staff.

Absolutely loves this place, all dishes was super delicious and tasty! The star of the show was for sure the tuna and crab tostada! The seabass aguachile was amazing, scallop ceviche also stunning, so was the suckling pig and the sweet potato, delicious! The croquetas and the corn and anchovy tostada was great too but after the other items these were less memorable. Artichoke was fab with it's herby salsa. The aubergine and mushroom was the only out of place dish, all dishes packed so much flavour but this was just a grilled dish with not much added flavours. We tried all the desserts, and the best was definitely the pistachio donut freshly made! The cactus choclate mousse was nice if you like choclate desserts. The mango and passionfruit parfait was tasty but nothing special. Cocktails were also very delicious but some were just very small for the price.

We keep coming back to Zapote! Service is super friendly and professional and the food is to die for.I've moved back to London after living in Mexico and have been disappointed many times with the Mexican food I tried in the UK, but not at Zapote! All the ingredients are super fresh, homemade tortillas and the selection of dishes really takes it to another level.Having parents that are restaurateurs means your palate is spoiled for choice and you're picky, but I have two favourite restaurants in London and Zapote is top of that list.Get the yellowfin tuna and crab tostada and the lamb barbacoa and well.. try everything else too because the chef knows what he's doing.

Absolutely delicious. The lamb and pork belly especially so. Oh, and the beef rib. It's worth noting, this is not your typical cheap and dirty burrito joint so don't expect to get a good filling for a tenner. That said, for the quality I think it is pretty good value.
