Really exceptionally good pub. Great food in that oh-so-difficult middle of the range price. Proper Lunch.Great beer.Genuine service and not too stuck in it's ways. Definitely my favourite in the area - wish it was a bit nearer to where I usually am

We called in on a weekday at lunchtime, it was fairly busy, but were served quickly. The food was excellent, perfectly done cajun chicken burger with halloumi and fries, salad included. The beer I chose was the Camden pale, really nice. What tipped the score to 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ was the reasonable prices. All in all a nice experience.Thankyou very much.

SUNDAY CARVERY:When you get there early and wait for the doors to open at 12.00 then you know they are doing something right and it is the same every week so that means many are returning regulars, abbot ale conditioned nice as well.staff are welcoming attentive and polite despite being very busy on a Sunday.please don't let everyone know about this gem of a pub!

Considering the current COVID-19 climate, I was unimpressed by the amount of people within the pub. It was very cramped and packed when ordering at the bar. Due to the one way system in place at the pub, in order to exit the pub it was required that I walk through a swathe of people and it was impossible to socially distance at that point. The food was however, very nice.

Visited for lunch recently with a large disabled lunch group, the lady behind the bar was an absolute star, nothing was too much trouble for her, she was amazing, just wish i could remember her name. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced.

Busy at bar, ordered via website which was very efficient. Service good. Bit hot in main eating area but nice beer garden to eat in outside with a small playground for kids. Food was reasonably priced and good portion size and pretty good.

Was a really lovely little pub, with a separate dining area. I ordered their beer battered fish and chips. The food was tasty and cooked well. The pub is also in a beautiful location, with rolling hills behind it.

Really lovely independent pub and setting with a real we care" attitude. Have been many times and will continue. Beer garden is great with umbrellas and a children's area too."

We had the Sunday carvery which was very nice. There is relaxed and personal atmosphere. Good selection to choose from the menu. Very busy (popular) by the time we left.Side note: watch out for walkers and horses on your travels along the country roads.
