I had the privilege of witnessing the incredible work of Helga Machado one of the physiotherapists at Healing Touch Rehab who worked tirelessly with my wife- a stroke survivor, helping her regain her ability to walk after being bed bound for a very long time and told by others there was nothing more that could be done! Helga’s dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment to my wife’s recovery left a permanent impression on our family.From the very first session, it was evident that Helga was not only highly skilled but also deeply compassionate. She took the time to listen to my wife’s unique challenges and aspirations, creating a personalised treatment plan that prioritised her individual needs and goals. It was clear that Helga understood the importance of a holistic approach to rehabilitation, considering not just the physical but also the emotional and psychological aspects of the recovery journey.What truly set Helga apart was her ability to motivate and inspire. In February 2020, our son acquired a traumatic brain injury from falling at a substantial height. Healing Touch were instructed to assess him and I was extremely impressed by their assessment and report. Nothing was overlooked or rushed. His medical issues were identified, including issues with his vestibular system.The report was extremely detailed and had a clear plan of action to help him recover. One of the things which was really difficult for our son and for us, as his parents, was his deterioration in his physical abilities. He went from a happy five year old, who could easily catch a ball. Had good hand/eye coordination and normal core strength, to being considerably weak in all these area's.We are now three years into his therapy and it's down to Kay and her amazing team of experts, that our son is reaching age appropriate goals, and ultimately loving sport and physical activity once more.Without the help, support and expertise of Healing Touch, he certainly wouldn't be at the stage he is today.
