After coming in 2020, celebrating 3 years of sobriety while having an amazing worker called Pete, I came back recently after health took its toll. Basically, you no longer get offered Methadone if you’re on prescription tablets (illicit or prescribed- only if you’re on h*roin) so you’re only left with Buprenorphine/Naloxone (they’ll only offer you that however after making you jump hurdles and if they (drugs) pose a threat to your health). I have non alcoholic fatty liver disease, IBS-D and can’t afford food which is causing weight loss due to my addiction (I’d say that poses a threat to health, wouldn’t you?). The lead clinicians meet EVERY OTHER FRIDAY (bare in mind they don’t meet/talk to you, they only hear your case via your worker) to discuss if they’ll put you on treatment. I plead with my worker Caitlin I just wanted to be put on some form of treatment so-I wasn’t spending £900 per month on painkillers, I wasn’t taking tablets not knowing whether they were real or not and so I can get my life back on track. Long story short, treatment got declined and all I was offered was filling out diaries and face to face appointments to talk. I’m on 3 sets of highly addictive painkillers and they think talking will get me off of them. I discharged myself as I wasn’t getting anywhere only to discover my worker spoke to my doctor and basically said I only came for drugs and that I’d rejected all other forms of help…So, if you’re hooked on prescription narcotics, this isn’t the place for you.Seriously gone down hill.
