The Salmon Inn
I enjoyed my stay. Travelled by train. Shops, cafes and restaurant within short walking distance. I enjoyed seeing the Great Tapestry of Scotland. Also visited Melrose Abbey, I can understand why historians like to see historic constructions in person. No electronic calculators or computers to aid design and construction!

Family took my mother there for birthday meal, very disappointed as I had the lasagne which was microwaved and as dry as could be. For £14.95 for a microwaved lasagne is shocking and an embarrassment. Staff were good, pity the food was not. Would not go back.

Comfortable room, a bit dark but, nice for an overnight stay.Staff are very friendly, great atmosphere in the very busy bar

Really popular pub for meals. Excellent quality, steak pie was rich with good chunks of meat. Chilli chicken had just enough spice.Booking essential at the weekend for both lunch and dinner.

Went for a family meal so can't rate the rooms. Service, atmosphere and food all ab fab. Will definitely go again.

The Salmon Inn
Booked the twin room ahead of time after walking the Southern Upland Way. We were welcomed to a clean room which had adjustable heating controls. Shower room was large and plenty of space in the bedroom. The evening meal was a delight. Generous and very tasty meal. I recommend the cask beers and pork ribs for starter.
