I’ve been using Greenthumb lawn care for a number of years. They were great to start with, but gradually they went downhill with their service treatments.Although we continued to pay the direct it became common place for treatments to be cancelled at short notice and not carried out at all,to the point we wondered what we were paying for.In one season we totally missed an aeration and scarification and was never refunded for it. Due to this, we cancelled our treatments as our lawn had deteriorated. Greenthumb continued with the odd treatment, still no scarification or aeriation. After a honest stinging review, I was contacted by them and I asked them for a run down of treatments missed and cancelled. I waited for weeks and have never ever received evidence, but was told that I owed about £14 ish, so I paid it, I was assured things would improve and sadly I started the direct debit.On our first treatment since restarting it, ‘they turned up’ and they said that they had treated the lawn, they certainly turned up and put 2 cards through my door saying that treatments had been carried. The point of contention is that we are getting an extension built and have scaffolding around the building and Herres fencing, making it virtually impossibly to get round with a wheelie bin never mind any of the machinery. My builders assured me no one had been in the garden as they were putting up breeze blocks and there were no granules to be seen.So I contacted them and they sent out a manager, who was an operative that had previously carried out the odd treatment, he had an official Greenthumb jacket on, he said that a treatment had been carried out, my backside.So I have cancelled the direct debit for good. They can’t be trusted to do what they are paid for and in my opinion dishonest. Read their reviews, similar stories. Go with a local company that can be trusted.
