Floristry Workshops at Balsham House Flowers (Floral School)

We went to Helen to learn how to do flowers for my wedding and we had so much fun! Helen is really knowledgeable and was able to give us loads of advice about which flowers to use, how to build up a perfect arrangement and on where to source flowers. We spent around 4 hours with her and all left with a small arrangement plus two walling hanging arrangements. Thank you Helen for a fabulous and really useful day! Definitely recommend to anyone that wants to learn about flower arranging or for help on wedding flowers.

My mum and I had such a wonderful day with Helen on her DIY Wedding Flowers course! Helen was so helpful and knowledgeable (with lots of gardening tips too) and not to mention a very talented chef! I would definitely recommend!

Did this with my mum for flowers at my sister's wedding. We LOVED it; so much love poured into the planning and execution, dream-house setting, educational and inspirational, delicious cake and lunch, fun day out. Would also recommend for solo florists as it's easy to bond with others there. 5 stars :)

My daughter and I had a brilliant day at the DIY Wedding Flowers Workshop. Helen was so warm and welcoming and gave us lots of techniques and tips that were really helpful. We had so many flowers to play with - it was wonderful! She gave each of us, (there were 5 all together), plenty of individual advice and was full of inspiring ideas. Plus the food was simply delicious! I feel much better prepared now to do the flowers at my daughter's wedding. Thank you, Helen, for a fabulous day!

We completed a DIY wedding flowers course with Helen, which was immensely helpful. We covered bouquets, buttonholes and table centrepieces. Helen really listened and looked at the ideas I sent her before the course, and had brought in loads of flowers and foliage to make these a reality. She was really patient and a great teacher. There was always lots of tea and cake, and a very tasty lunch. Overall we had a fantastic day, and would highly recommend!

What a wonderful day we had with Helen! I booked the DIY Wedding Flowers course for myself, my sisters, and my mum to help us grasp the basics ahead of doing the flowers for my wedding next year-but it went far beyond that. Helen really tailored it to what we were looking to create, and was such a lovely guide and support throughout. The fantastic homemade cake and lunch really topped off the experience!Would highly recommend, even if you’re not planning your wedding!

Helen at Balsham flowers was lovely. I needed to decorate a Landrover for my daughters wedding. Helen had loads of ideas for flower choices etc. We had the best time collecting flowers and foliage from her dreamy garden.The whole experience was fabulous and very therapeutic

My mum and I attended Helen’s DIY wedding flower workshop day and it was such an amazing experience (and I’m not usually one to gush!). Prior to the day we were really doubting whether we’d be able to manage the flowers for my wedding next spring on our own, but after the workshop we now feel empowered to make the bouquets, buttonholes and arrangements for the day. I was so pleased with the bouquet I made during the day, I will make something similar for my actual wedding. Helen also provided a delicious, healthy lunch as well as homemade cake - all very tasty. I’d really recommend this workshop for any one wanting to do their own flowers but not knowing where to start! It’s also great value for money as we learnt so many new skills and got to take our flowers home too!

We had the best day. Helen was brilliant before the workshop, finding out exactly what we wanted from the day. The day itself was a fantastic experience. Really could not believe we created what we did. It was all so professional and very beautiful. Helen was so helpful and kept us focused throughout the day - there was five very lively budding florists, so we needed clear direction. Thanks Helen, we came away with some beautiful creations, but most importantly lots of floristry know how and ready to produce some lovely wedding arrangements. I would certainly this course recommend very highly. Helen is very creative, but realistic and practical. She knows exactly what she is doing and was the perfect tutor. Thanks Helen.

Helen gives you the tools you need to feel confident about producing your own wedding flowers. We had such an array of flowers and foliage to use with different colours and textures. Her expert eye guides you through from complete novice (me) to confident amateur who leaves feeling less daunted and far more able and confident. I left with a hand tied bouquet and a button hole that I felt very proud of. Helen also has the patience of a saint.I would highly recommend this workshop.
