I've initiated work with Holdens' staff twice in the last year or so in both family and criminal areas. On each occasion, from the first phone call into the firm to follow up with specific solicitors, we have been made to feel that they were highly personable, knowledgeable and caring in their dealings with me and mine.

I received bad service from two of their solicitors, Amy Wood and a partner in the firm David Mainwaring. They are both rude. David Mainwaring gave me advice that was different to what I was told by a Crown Court judge told and wouldn't explain why that was. He is arrogant in his beliefs and I believe he has lied.. I complained directly to the firm today. I would advise others not to use them.

I would give 0 stars if I could. Horrendous. I went there in need of help with an urgent, high risk matter but couldn't get my double pram through the door. I ran to reception and asked if they could help me get the pram in but the receptionist refused to help me until I told her why I was here. Obviously I didn't want to leave my two nine month babies outside on their own so I had to stand in the corridor half way between reception and outside and shout things to her. I didn't want to go in to private details but she wasn't happy with my answers and kept demanding more rather than helping me get my children inside and have a quiet, private conversation. I ended up in tears and left. If you are a vulnerable woman needing support with delicate matters, I strongly advise you don't try here.

Excellent experience with Peter Rutherford acting for me in the sale/purchase of my old/new home.Out of the long chain of properties my solicitor was always the first to have all the information ready. I was never waiting for him. Would certainly recommend

Absolutely awful.I was unfortunate enough to appoint David Mainwaring as representation. He criminally neglected to present any of the defence including medical reports and body worn footage. There was a number of expert witnesses to attend that he did not bother to arrange. He literally submitted nothing for the defence and despite being asked during court repeatedly to make certain documents and videos available, he did not. Not just the worse solicitors I've used but the fraud and criminal negligence of Mainwaring refusal to adhere to the law has resulted in substantial losses.
