Only stayed one night and would have liked more. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating, some of the best I've encountered. Made sure we got a table for dinner even though the kitchen was due to close.and were cheerful throughout. The place is very tastefully decorated and is a charming old pub. The food is really good and priced about right as well. The room was smallish but big enough for two people, bed was comfy and the view out of the window was over the churchyard all very nice indeed. Couple of minor downers. The shower dripped a bit and had a bit of mould in it.. They also broke the cardinal rule of the full English. The dreaded single sausage, however the breakfast can include porridge as well so its not that bad..Only other downside is likely to only be an issue for bikers no secure car park. But it doesn't strike me as a high crime area. I would go and stay there again in a heartbeat.

The last time I visited here was about 20 years ago and all I could buy to eat was a Mars Bar! Times have changed and now there’s an extensive lunchtime menu including a starter called Frickles which is a steal at £2.95. Both cask ales on sale - Halo and 1822 - were well kept. A terrific country pub in an absolutely stunning location.

Period building going back to 1600s. Limited menu although most is cooked on the premises to a high standard. Staff friendly and attentive. Potions are a tad undersize but still makes for a great dining experience. Wheelchair friendly. Dogs especially welcome

Lovely friendly pub, dog friendly and good selection of drinks. Great for hikers on the fairy steps trail, don't mind muddy boots either. Food menu looked good so going back one evening to try it out.

Stopped off for a quick bite to eat. Sadly the wife's meal was cold. Staff were really good apologised but then returned with the same pie. Would have expected a fresh one. Never mind I guess won't be going back anytime soon. Shame really as came highly recommended

Stopped here on our way home and was really glad we did. Brandon welcomed us with such a friendly smile and asking us about our day. The food was delicious and we were particularly amazed by the value for money of the kids meals. Service was excellent and I really want the recipe for the Dahl with homemade poppadoms! Would thoroughly recommend. A local pub with excellent grub.
