We had our wedding here and everything went so smoothly, we really couldn’t have picked a better place to have gotten married.Food was lovely, everyone was very organised. We recommend asking for Emily or Vikki to help you with the wedding planning side of things, they were very clear and helpful with any questions you have and will go the distance to make the day special.Only advice for people looking here for weddings, I’d look around for DJ’s. We hardly had any indie or rock music like we’d asked but he was happy to play requests but most of our requests he didn’t have.

The spa was excellent. The staff were very attentive and the facilities were great. The massage was excellent too. I would give the spa 5 stars. We then had afternoon tea which didn't live up to the excellent service in the spa. The food came first and the coffee quiet a while after this. There was no jam which I had to ask for. There were only 2 types of sandwiches, three were listed on the menu. At the end of the afternoon tea the person serving took 15 mins to bring a box for the left over food. Overall excellent spa but average afternoon tea.

Cannot fault the Staff and the Service they provided, from check in to check.out, everyone was approachable, happy and helpful. Room was bigger than usual, clean and comfortable but the bathroom could have done with a door that closed!! Beautiful setting, even on a cold and rainy day.

A nice but tired looking hotel. My room was clean (apart from a couple of cobwebs, which would have taken a few seconds to remove) and tidy. The only real downside is I had to run the hot water tap for a good 10 or so minutes before the hot water (well warm actually) began to flow. Apart from that I would be happy to stay here again.PS. If you intend to use the swimming pool be sure to check it's open before you book your stay, because it was out of action during my stay.

The hotel is alright. They have invested downstairs, but the carpet on the landings could do with replacing. The bedroom are clean, but needs upgrading. The carpet in the bedroom looks like Premier Inn carpet.I feel that the place could do with having a good front of house staff member and the prices increasing, to allow more investment. I feel that by adding another £20 per night on the cost, would make a difference for investment. The bar area has been upgraded, but very empty. It needs filling with furniture.Would I return, maybe not. That's not to say it wasn't good, but not for me.

Absolutely appalling stay. My first 1 star review and I've given service a 0. The 1st room we got stunk of sewerage. We were then moved to a dirty in parts room but we just happy it didn't smell. Needed a fan as it was boiling - we went to collect it after waiting an hour. Very tired, worn decor.Evening meal food was excellent. We has pork belly and tagliatelle napolii. Worth the money. However we were sat at a dirty table and when they came to clean they sprayed my hubby with the spray. Good service despite this and we tipped.Lovely sleep in the room despite 3 pillows for 2 people- bizarre!Onto breakfast. WORST EXPERIENCE IN A HOTEL WEVE EVER HAD!!! nothing was available and when asked for bread the SUPERVISOR acted as if we had asked for his first born. There were limited breakfast items and when asked when we could have the new things we were met with an aggressive triade of how he the SUPERVISOR was on his own and what did we expect. We left the room and went to complain. As we reached reception this man followed us and screamed vile and vulgar insults including the C Word at us because we dared to complain. This was heard by staff. The manager was summoned and took our statements. I was left in tears. The lovely receptionist and morning waitress were extremely kind. The manager was shocked and listened well to the issues and promised they wouldn't be swept away.Only today 4 days after have I been refunded. Best Western have not bothered to reply to my 1 star review on their survey. Obviously they don't care about their franchise at Hall Garth.Horrific experience and yes I turned down a free stay to make up for the experience as it was so vile I wouldn't go back.

We went for a day pass in the spa to unwind and relax, upon arriving told the pool was being repaired and offered a discount on the pass - we really appreciated this and accepted. We could see the staff were trying to fix it asap, people were testing bits and chatting to repairmen .The small but capable spa was quiet, warm, facilities were good despite the odd bit of wear and tear and bits of rust here and there. Floors were clean, pool was clean, both waters being tested periodically by staff. There is a water fountain available to fill up water bottles/cups so you don't have to keep going in and out to the bar.Within 2h of arriving the pool was fixed so we enjoyed having a bit of a swim quietly with other spa users. The pool was clean and a good temperature. The visit ended a bit sour when a tirade of children burst through the door, dive bombing, shouting, screaming, splashing as parents stood by watching despite signs asking for this to happen as there is no life guard on duty and the pools max depth was 1.5m. Staff said nothing, parents said nothing, so if you'd prefer a quieter spa experience I wouldn't advise going in the school holidays. I understand children are children but a leisure centre would probably have been more appropriate, and no staff intervened leaving relaxed people quite irate. There is around 4 comfy lounger chairs in the entire spa, with some plastic benches also so if there is a larger amount of you visiting, be aware. Also the classic 'brits abroad' issue of people 'reserving' the chairs with their towels then buggering off for dinner and a treatment for a few hours leaving us sat on plastic benches between being battered by kids and sauna.

This was our second time visiting the spa, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the treatment rooms are so welcoming would highly recommend visiting Hall Garth. We had a two course meal which was excellent again the staff couldn't do enough in the dining area.We are going to book again been to a few different locations but we find this one the best the girls who do the treatment are highly qualified and really look after you always check with you first and explain what they are going to do, I have rheumatoid arthritis and I feel so much better when I leave.
