SBL have done a number of jobs for us over the last few years. That alone says that we are very happy with their work.They have been happy to do minor jobs such as a single window replacement. Through bathroom refits and onto a virtually complete rebuild of part of our bar. All work has been completed to time scales promised, and with no surprises on the costings. Everything price wise is detailed and signed off. On the bar job, which involved removing a complete exterior wall and building a steel frame prior to installing Bi-Fold doors along the length of the building. They liaised with structural engineers on our behalf and dealt with all the building regs required.I would not hesitate to recommend them as quality local builders.

SBL have done several quite large projects for us over a number of years. He has recently completed a loft conversion for our son. He provided sound advice prior to the project, came up with a very detailed and sensible quote and was honest and realistic with regards to timing during this horrible pandemic. We were surprised and really pleased that work was started on the hoped for date and work continued with minimal fuss, minimal delay and much sensitivity with the family needing to live in the property while work progressed. The work has been completed to a good standard and by the hoped for time. :-). The invoices were prompt, detailed and as per the original quote with any extras added to agreement and because we wanted a change of spec. All hitches have been very quickly attended too and resolved without quibble and quickly , and what building project won't have these.Many thanks to you and your workmen Stuart. Another project well done for us.

Totally professional company. Turned up when they said they would. All the various teams for different jobs were friendly, polite and cheerful. They got on with the job. Management popped in and out often to check everything was going well. I now have a beautiful conservatory. I am so pleased. Good value too! A big thank you! X

SBL did a fantastic job on our bathrooms - completely ripped out and installed new bathroom, plus did some work on our en-suite and downstairs WC. All looks amazing and our house was well looked after. Had a couple of things that needed rectifying the following week and they came back that same morning we messaged and sorted it all out. Really pleased with the efficiency and would highly recommend! (Big thanks to Dan and the team, and Stuart for arranging it all!)

We contacted SBL in order to get a quotation for building a car port at the end of the garden so that we could have off-street parking. Stuart Barnes was prompt and helpful in every area: arranging a meeting to discuss our requirements; responding to queries that arose during the work; keeping us informed of the progress. No work was carried out for which we did not have a quotation and the final invoice was as agreed. The work carried out was of a very high standard and we would not hesitate to recommend his company to anyone contemplating having building works carried out.

Have used SBL several times for a variety of works. Communication has always been personable and efficient. Prices are fair and I thoroughly agree with paying deposits upfront. Work has been completed to timescales given and to a high standard. On only one occasion (the notorious flat roof garage!) was there a problem, which whilst annoying for us and them; they returned on numerous occasions until the problem was rectified at no additional cost, when others might have walked away. Would use again and happy to recommend (just be aware that not all jobs in life run smoothly)

This is the third time we’ve employed SBL for our renovations. We return to them because they are fairly priced, hugely experienced, professional and keep you informed through every step of the work. And, in the unlikely event of a problem afterwards, they always return promptly to resolve it.SBL have just completed another significant renovation for us and we could not be more pleased. SBL were very supportive and professional in the help they gave me when replacing some “blown” double glazing windows on a house that I was selling in this part of Dorset. The sale was difficult to organise as I was in New Zealand at the time! The SBL operatives did very good work and kept me up to date with progress by email and coped with the 11 hour time difference very well. Thank you SBL. Thoroughly recommended!

Had a single window replaced by SBL - Very impressed with the companies quick and comprehensive communication and the manner in which they operate. Transparent and really good pricing is another perk. The work carried out was also as expected with no issues. A site visit prior to work and personal recommendation from Stuart in regards to the window style (which I am very glad I followed) was a lovely touch. I will happily use SBL for any future work. SBL have just installed some replacement PVCu windows at our home, and we are absolutely delighted with the work. From the original enquiry, though to the survey, quotation and the installation itself, every aspect of the process was straightforward and hassle-free. Stuart and the team were professional, courteous and friendly, and the replacement of the windows went according to plan. The fitters were clearly very experienced and competent and they cleaned each room thoroughly before leaving the house. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend SBL for any home improvement project.
