Llanelli & Mynydd Mawr Railway

Visited when it was closed so no chance to get closer to the trains unfortunately. Still, if you're train enthusiast then worth going there to see old stock.

Staff very friendly. My son had a brilliant experience driving the train (an experienced train driver goes through all the necessary elements to drive the train, then he watches you as you drive it). At present, there's a mobile cafe for food/drinks. We were told, in the near future, a train carriage will be converted into a cooking and eating area. They also have other big projects planned. Currently there's a shed were visitors will be shown. A few trains dotted around. For the price of the the driver experience, you'll get a certificate, mug and become a member for a year. We have been to this place twice and plan on returning. Happy driving!

An unforgettable day doing the Pacer Driver Experience. I never thought in a million years that I would ever get an opportunity to drive a train in the real world and I had the biggest smile on my face the whole time! Well worth the money and the 6 hours travelling there and then 6 hours travelling back! A unique opportunity to get up close and personal and hands on with some iconic rolling stock that I would thoroughly recommend to anyone interested in trains. Special thanks to Mark and Paula for making me feel so welcome and at ease from the first minute of my experience to the last. Will be back another day in the future for sure!

Not open. Doesn't look like it's opened in the whole of 2023. It's all over grown and looks like it's been abandoned. You can not get into the place to get a closer look. The walk is nice, with the odd place to take a photo. On the preserved railway list it says these engines are to be fully restored but by the looks of them, they are rotting down and decaying.

Found this little gem as new to the area and wanted to somewhere new to take photos. Same to see it all abandoned would make a great cafe!! Closed due to covid hoping to see it better after covid.

The disused Railtrack is a great place for a good walk with the family with lots of blackberries along the way. The flowers and fauna make a good topic to interest the children as well as adults. Be aware of cyclists because it is also a cycle route. There are no other activities in this place but it looks like there are plans to develop for tourists in future.

Lovely staff, great driver experience. Gift shop, tour of the shed where they are fixing up engines. Plans to expand on the books. Highly recommended. We'll worth the drive! Parking on site is free. Toilets on site. Benches to eat lunch.

Paid a short trip to LMM railway over a weekend running session. Was nice to see an old pacer running on the line still and being preserved. Very small site with only a short track section but still worth a visit.
