Millfield Golf Complex & Holiday Accommodation

I love this golf complex, I've been playing here for over 30 years. I play the Grenville golf course which is their 2nd 18 hole course (well technically 17 holes now) and still love it.It doesn't get as much care and attention as the main 18 but it is still a fun experience to play for £5. They have shortened some of the holes to make it easier for the inexperienced golfers but the fairways can be very narrow and the rough very long so be prepared to lose a few balls. If you want smooth greens and bunkers then don't play on this course, play on the main 18, but if you want a leisurely round of golf with the course to yourselves then this is for you.I would have given 5 stars but because one of my favourite holes is no longer in play and the bridge over the dyke is out of use which makes that section of the course really awkward to play now they've lost a point. Overall though I think the changes they're making are good, could just do with cutting the rough a little shorter in places and fixing the bridge and they'd be back up to 5 stars

I can only judge on the 9 hole pitch and putt.The price for unlimited rounds is great, only £3. That is really good value for money. Unfortunately, the course is in a shocking state. Which is a real shame, as I can remember donkeys years ago, when it first opened. The greens and the fairways were always well maintained.Hopefully, when the better weather turns up. The course may get some well needed TLC?

First time here today on the main 18. Loved it. Lots of hills so you carnt see some of the flags. Lots of bunkers. And the greens were fast today as was very dry till it started to rain. Even got a par on 16th so very happy carnt wait to come back. And gonna bring the kids a some point to do the small course. And only £8 I've gave the a tenner as it was worth it. See you again soon

Had an incredible overnight stay in one of the cabins last night. Best night sleep I've had in months in a remote and beautiful setting. Always made to feel very welcome. Would recommend highly

For the value of money you can’t go wrong, played the 9 hole 8 years ago and still being friends and new comers back to it, tried the main 18 for the first time after cancelling my membership at torksey for the 5 pound it cost me and my friend after 4:30 you can’t complain he was was a new comer and loved playing a full 18 with proper tee boxes and decent playing surface, you get what you pay and I think it is and absolute bargain not for the snobs but for the lovers of the game !

Yes we know it's not the Belfry and the greens aren't the best. But what a lovely weekend we had. 2 nights stay in a clean, comfortable log cabin and 3 rounds of golf for £80. Will definately be back soon

We have been coming here for the last 9 years. This year (2022) in June will be our 10th Year. We cut our Golfing teeth on these courses and enjoy coming back every year. The value for money is incredible and if you want a quiet, no frills, no snobbery golf weekend away with friends this place is a pure hidden Gem! The owners are friendly and helpful. Places like this just don't exist anymore. The Grenville course is a great place to learn with its open fairways. The Main course is a challenge with a slope index of 143! The greens run true and there are some really interesting holes you will just never see on a modern course. This is the only course I've played where you have to T off over bushes and trees and lay up in front of a green surrounded by a hedge!! You will not find better value Golf in the UK. It's not Augusta but then again Augusta isn't Millfield!!

First time back in a while due to pandemic etc. It was a great weekend for all. My elderly father went a day early than the rest of us and fell whilst unpacking his car. Scott looked after him as if he was his own until a family member could get there to take over. He was in safe hands and can't thank him enough. The place hasn't changed, which is so nice to have continuity and the familiarity of 'we are back'. The cabins were clean and comfortable and would recommend this family run business to anyone wanting a relaxing break and a few lost golf balls. See you next year Millfield!
