I agree with the can't see why people would want to go there comments. It's macabre and disrespectful, although it possibly says quite a lot about those who visit and revel in the fact you walk upon human remains ( to quote one reviewer). To deal with those who describe deceased convicts as flung there"

People should respect this place. Keep off. The people that disturb this environment should feel ashamed. What goes through the sad mind of someone who thought it was ok to arrange a jaw bone and a pair of leg bones into a 'pirate flag' and then photograph it for amusement.Leave well alone.

Sad reflection on Victorian society. May they all rest in peace.

Not sure why people feel the need to go there it's pretty unaccesible and you wouldn't go to a cemetery usually to pick up bones. Consider if you saw someone picking up and handling the bones of a relative of yours then taking pics!Odd people

Scary place!Where is Deadman's Island and who owns it?It lies at the mouth of The Swale, opposite the town of Queenborough on the Isle of Sheppey, off the north Kent coast. Can anyone visit? No, the island is completely out of bounds to the public.Who were the people buried there? The remains are believed to be those of men and boys who died of contagious diseases on board floating prisons, known as prison hulks, which were moored off the Isle of Sheppey more than 200 years ago.

The whole area is thick in Skeletal remains from the dead that were flung there a few Centuries back from Prison Ships. Very gory, can't walk on it without standing on the bones. People forget we still use Prison Ships. If you go don't pick up and take anything away as something you can't see might follow.

I’ve never been but I think it’s mighty arrogant of some people to pass judgement on others simply because they are curious about seeing an island littered with human bones. Do you think archaeologists are creepy for spending their lives looking for bones? It’s called curiosity. Get off your high horses Karen’s. Just another reason why I hate most people.
