Life after Cancer
I can't recommend the 'Life After Cancer - Coaching Programme' enough. I learned so much about myself, my capabilities, my resilience and how to manage those cancer gremlins than stay with you even after your treatment has finished and your hair has grown back. It was such a relief to honestly share experiences, thoughts and worries with a group of people who truly understand. I've come away feeling a lot more confident about my future.

Life After Cancer has given me the tools to move forward with my life. I would still be struggling to get through each day, if I hadn’t found Steph and an amazing group of people who have become friends for life. Going through this course helped me to return to work and feel human again; before this I was just a cancer patient. The support has been phenomenal and the course is a ‘must’ for every person who has been through cancer.

Life After Cancer is an absolute god send at a time when patients leave the intense care they receive at hospital and are released back into the world, usually shaken up, tired, still having post treatment side effects and not knowing what life will be like, post the traumatic cancer experience.LAC helps them to navigate this period and gives them brilliant tools to help get them back on their feet to ensure they not only survive, but thrive and live life to the full.Added to this they connect with people who understand what they’ve been through and feel comfortable opening up about how they feel. Steph has created a brilliant, much needed programme and I’m so grateful that I had the chance to take part, once I got the in remission news.A huge thank you and well done to the LAC team for their invaluable support and care to the ‘after cancer’ community.Juliet Thomas

Life after Cancer
I finished my active treatment for cancer feeling very lost. Meeting online each week with others who have had similar experiences was so valuable in helping me know I'm not alone or unusual in experiencing these feelings post cancer. The Life after Cancer programme helped me to work out what is important to me now and focus on how I want to move forward. I feel so hopeful about the future as a result!

I asked if I could repeat the course because when I first did it I was actually not really that well on reflection. Having repeated the course I can highly recommend it for learning how to care for myself again, finding some relief in sharing and hearing others stories. It is very gentle in some ways and yet challenges one to really see where you are and what you value about that, or want to change. After cancer, life has been different for me than before- in some ways in a good way but also some things that are difficult and always will be. This course provides a space to look at this with others and consider ways to make the best of it all. Highly recommend.

Steph's coaching was really valuable in helping me make a big change in my life as I become self employed. Having faced cancer, bereavement and redundancy recently, I wanted to make a permanent change for the better in my life but was stuck in procrastination. I had previously attended one of Steph's Life After Cancer workshops and found her style and approach really helpful, incisive and positive. This led me to work with her on a one to one basis. The coaching has been instrumental in me moving forward in life and taking the plunge to do something that feels scary but true to my values.

Life after Cancer
When I signed up to Life After Cancer I was in that ‘lost’ phase post-treatment, but still in recovery. Cancer is a life changing experience, not only physically, but emotionally too. You have to rebuild your trust in your body, rebuild your confidence and rebuild your hopes for the future. The support mechanisms you had during your treatment have (quite rightly) gone to support others starting or still on their journey, but that leaves a gaping hole that family and friends, despite their best intentions, are unable to fill. Life After Cancer helped me to connect to a group of women I probably wouldn’t have met, but ones who I could be completely honest with and together share our experience of an awful time and support each other to rebuild the things cancer took away from us. I met some fabulous people who I laughed and cried with, and it was so important for me personally as it helped rebuild my confidence to take on a new, very demanding job after two years away from the workplace for treatment and recovery. No one asks to have cancer, and no one should think it won’t happen to them. Connecting with Life After Cancer helped me do just that - work through the emotions and struggles the journey created and move on to the next phase of my life, leaving the difficult times behind.Steph was brilliant at connecting everyone in the group, encouraging us all through breakouts to be open and share our thoughts and experiences of our cancer and to ‘big ourselves up’, rebuild the person we were before cancer, but also consider what the journey taught us and how we have changed, certainly in my case, for the better. I’m so grateful I signed up to the six week course, which really helped with all these factors, but the monthly catch ups are great too! Thank you Steph, you have helped me personally so much and I am incredibly grateful to you ❤️

Life after Cancer
After my treatment ended, I really struggled to get back on my feet and find direction again. It wasn’t until I found the Life After Cancer programme that this changed. When participating in the programme, I was able to find a sense of calm, find others going through the same journey, and I came away feeling like I had a sense of identity again. Steph was absolutely lovely, and so amazing at running the group- I looked forward to joining the group every Thursday to practice some mindful techniques and to journal my thoughts. I found making the detailed plan thoroughly effective and I still use this now to help guide me when I need it. As well as this, the group does not finish after the 6 weeks, there are more groups for you to join, such as book club and self reflection sessions which is so helpful and worthwhile! I will be recommending The life after cancer programme to anyone who may need it in future. Thank you so much for all your support!

The Life after Cancer course is an excellent way to help to put your cancer treatment behind you and plan to move forward. It is well structured and moderated and I found it gave me new confidence and challenged me to change some of my ways of thinking.

The Life After Cancer programme maps out a clear journey of support and advice, and the tasks and group discussions helped me to develop a new sense of self after experiencing cancer. Sherine was a brilliant host, and it has left a positive mark on who I have now become after these six weeks. Thank you!
