Went for food on the Sunday first time ever been here and it didn't disappoint. The location is amazing. The pub is beautiful. The atmosphere was spot on and everyone both staff and guests were so friendly. The Sunday dinner was delicious and the music was perfect nice little acoustic music in the background. My perfect type of pub and would highly recommend to anyone. We will definitely be back and looking to stay there in the near future

Fantastic food and fabulous accommodation! We stayed here for one night to break up our journey on route home. We stayed in the Pennie view room. The room was comfortable, clean and had everything you need for a pleasant stay. Gorgeous bathroom with giant bath was a great feature of the room. We had dinner which was excellent as was breakfast the following morning. Friendly and welcoming staff with a nice atmosphere in the pub.

We had heard about tan Hill in being highest pub in uk so as we were travelling nearby decided to drop in .Tan Hill is a lovely traditional pub .dogs are very welcome it has a warm open fire to sit beside.Considering it is a little out of the way it was fairly busy .staff were lovely. We will be returning as we can park up in our camper for a reasonable costArea is remote be a great place to let the dog have a good run then cuppa or pint by fire .

Fantastic place to stay on the Pennine Way. Cozy well-equipped and comfortable family room. Friendly staff. Lovely atmosphere. Only issues was that evening meals for vegetarians were a bit limited and not amazing. But the crumble was delicious.

The manageress is VERY rude hence the 2 stars she has no hospitality skills. They asked £30 each to see the band" which was the chef & others they didn't start till well after 9 & finished at 11 not good value for money. However the food & the rooms were excellent ."

Amazing location, we only had starters but they were really nice and fresh. The atmosphere is quite special in the evening with lots of people staying over and chatting to each other. We camped out back for £10 per tent with amazing views. The toilet for campers is fine. Allowed us to charge our bike batteries for free. You have to pre book breakfast!

This is my 3rd visit to The Tan Hill Inn and I love it every time. Each occasion I have been then it has been after a walk around the moors, so I have built up my appetite which is a good thing because the servings are generous! This occasion was the first time with my wife so she got to experience it also and she too really liked it. We were only having lunch so I cannot rate the rooms but from what I hear they are very good, and I guess they must be as bookings are very popular. Each time I have been it has been around 1:30pm and I must say this is very much a “peak” time for food so be prepared to wait and queue for food and drink, but it will be worth it.It appears to calm down about around 2:30pm so if you don’t want to queue then aim for this time onwards I would suggest. As for the food then it isn’t a long wait and it will fill you up. I had simple fish and chips, and my wife had one of their home made pies. Both really flavoursome and good value for money. We didn’t have dessert as we were full after that.I really recommend their dark skies stout by the way, a great substitute for those who like Guinness.A fantastic place and one we will always try to incorporate into our Yorkshire trips if we can.

Went up for an evening meal on Saturday. The service was brilliant; lovely, friendly and helpful staff. We ordered fish and chips, and fruit crumble for dessert. The food was outstanding ❤️ well worth the money and the drive up there.
