We absolutely loved our visit! The whole experience was so enriching and heart-warming.Lots of sad stories about awful neglect but with happy endings. So lovely to see all these wonderful animals living their best lives.Free to enter now but there are donation boxes all around in which we left as much as we could.Highly recommended.

Lovely gem of a place - free entry is great with a larger family group visiting but also encourages adoption and purchases. We loved the horses and range of animals in well cared for spaces. The vegan cafe had some lovely choices and enjoyed by all. I loved the bric a brac shop!

Really love this place. Free parking and tickets. The horses near the cafe are tame that you can touch even kiss. We got to see many animals more than we expected; rabbit, goat, lambs, alpaca, chicken, pigs (most of animal farm). Washing hand sinks are available in many places. A very nice playground. Many bench to stop and sit.

Lovely place to visit, perfect for everyone! So many animals to see that now have a lovely home after being rescued from different circumstances. Amazing staff and a great cafe too!

Had a lovely afternoon here, it was wonderful and heartwarming to see the animals so well and happy, the stories of how they came to be here brought tears to my eyes. The staff here do an incredible and worthwhile job. The entrance is free so please leave a donation whatever you can afford as we did, the upkeep of Hillside must be very expensive. You can also adopt various animals if you wish.

Saw the sign on the roadside as we were passing by and decided to pop in, so glad we did! Fabulous place with all sorts of animals, shire horses, horses, goats, sheep, llama's, highland cattle and more. Was lovely to read the history and stories of the animals there. Cafe, toilets, benches to sit and relax, great way to spend an afternoon.

Free entry to see everything from rescued miniature shetland ponies, shire horses, donkeys, alpacas, lamas, goats, mules, pigs deer, sheep, cockatiels, budgies and finches, plus a barn full of beautiful restored horse drawn buses and carts, old farm machinery, a bric a brac barn and vegetarian cafe too. You can take your dogs for a walk round with you. It is a charity and donations large and small are obviously very welcome and essential to keep it going. Also they accept donations of blankets and towels for the dog rescue. Me and my dogs loved it.

Hillside Shire Horse Sanctuary
Really beautiful sanctuary for horses and other animals. The land they have to roam in is expansive and this is an extremely lovely place for the animals that live here. There is no admission price to visit the sanctuary but donations are welcome which in my opinion should be forthcoming from any visitors as it is a wonderful place to visit. Thanks to everyone at the sanctuary who make it a great place to see

We live in Surrey but regularly a travel to hillside. It has a really lovely place for rescued animals which u can walk around and see them. Yesterday we took some donations head collars salt blocks carrots and grooming set for the equines. They have many many animals to look after and are solely funded by the public so o really recommend anyone that likes horses or animals go along have a great time and donate whatever you can. They also have an adoption scheme where you can adopt one of their residents yesterday we adopted a beautiful ex race horse that was saved from slaughter and he is the most friendliest horse. They also have quite a few shires some of which they put in the stables for you to meet. They have some shetlands donkeys loads of goats alpacas and lamas sheep and cows as well as many rabbits and a nice little Avery. They have a beautiful gift shop where you can buy many things a children’s play area and a little animal free cafe. I can’t wait to go back to meet the horses again and highly recommend to anyone young or old that likes animals. Hillside has done a fantastic job not just saving animals but exposing what goes on with big chain names when it comes to mistreating animals. If anyone can give anything to help these guys it would be amazing as they deserve everything they can get. Keep up the good work hillside!

A lovely place to visit, lots to see. Great for couples, individuals and families of all ages.Lots of different rescued animals including horses, donkeys, chickens, llamas, rabbits, pigs, goats, ducks, geese, birds, cows and more…No cost to visit however they do ask for a donation which can be as much or as little as you wish. There is a gift shop, and a tea room selling drinks and food as well as plenty of picnic benches to sit and eat or relax.
