So I didn't stop in the rooms it was a last minute decision to try the Tuesday Taster Menu. Mr B who suggested the outing has eaten at the Freemason a few times but it was my first visit, will I go back? Most definitely.We were seated just before 7pm and were in for a treat the front of house staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Mr B was on alcohol free however I had a glass or two ( be rude not to).The taster menu consists of 5 courses but we got a couple of treats before first course which were tasty. The menu was slightly different from the one listed but we weren't disappointed there were some excellent elements. Not to go though every dish my highlights were the Brioche it was served with a mint dip which was so fresh. The pork and peach combo was stroke of genius my only one criticism is the cauliflower puree, I know it's a trendy thing but I'm not six months old and I love vegetables after having grown up in farming and growing area. However that's just my personal opinion Mr B tucked in and enjoyed it.The dessert was brilliant a deconstructed lemon meringue pie I loved it.We had a wonderful evening, the front of house staff were very well informed about each course. So thanks to the chef and to kitchen brigade for a terrific Tuesday what a treat. Can't wait to go again.

A stunning stay. Gorgeous room in a gorgeous village. The taster menu was simply fantastic with highlights the deconstructed lemon meringue and the duck. Great staff in unstuffy idyllic surroundings

Nice place in quaint village. Ambiance is good but slow service let's it down, too long between starter and main course. Food was tasty enough but the Yorkshire pudding was more like an Accrington brick. A bit pricy for red wine, £12.50 a glass. Happy we went but doubt we will return.

Wonderful stay... Lovely, comfortable room with large luxurious bathroom. But we were there for the food - the Taste of Freemasons was up there with the best tasting menu, from the snacks to the sweet treats and everything in between. The wine flight was also perfectly matched and generous. The chicken course was absolutely stunning... And then there was breakfast! Far too much but when it's chef-created it would be churlish to leave anything... A wonderful anniversary treat, completed by the exemplary service from all the staff.

A happy return to the Freemasons for our wedding anniversary. Beautifully prepared and presented dishes which were all absolutely delicious as well as excellent. Some of the entrées are ingenious!Plus friendly and very professional service. The standard here is consistently excellent and we always leave feeling it was both a treat and great culinary experience to dine here. Our favourite eatery in the North West and we'll be back for the next special occasion. Highly recommended!Be warned - parking can be a challenge in Wiswell.

Came for the lunch menu, which was delicious. The lamb fat brioche are so so good! Staff were lovely and the ambience friendly and casual gastro pub.

GREAT SERVICE,POOR GIRL WAS RUSHED OFF HER FEET.rickety chairs and tables thought they was going to collapse,Wait time between courses was ridiculous?,3 course meal over 2 hours,Food was average roast beef tough as old boots had to ask for steak knife which still struggled to cut beef.£45 per head price doesn't warrant quality had better at £25 at other restaurants.

Second time here and did was absolutely amazing as usual. We also stayed in Mr Fox next door to the restaurant. Overall a wonderful stay with exceptional service, food and atmosphere. Highly recommendedFollowing morning we had their breakfast, what we thought was just going to be a full English is actually a five course event. Mate sure you are ready for an absolute feast if you stay overWill be back for a Sunday dinner soon

Lovely, quiet and stylish room (Hare).Delicious food on the tasting menu - some of the best (of many) that we have eaten.The service was a bit odd, though: we were booked in to eat at 6 30, advised on the website to go down half an hour earlier for a drink, but the pre - dinner snacks didn't arrive until 7 15, by which time the G and Ts were long gone and we were starving!Once the courses started arriving, each one seemed to follow rather too quickly after the last. All of which could easily be improved.And I would still love to return. The food itself was a treat.
