Newell's Bistro
Dreadful. Overpriced breakfast of 1 sausage, 2 rashers of bacon, 1 egg and beans plus a slice of toast for £8.99. Sausage looked inedible, pale pink with a few flecks of brown on one side. Bacon likewise could do with a bit more cooking. Staff not particularly friendly. Went there before under different ownership when it was way better.

Nice small bistro great for a quick lunch or tea. Had the carrot cake and jacket potatoes, it was lovely.

Terrible, a lukewarm banana milkshake with sediment at the bottom followed by the worst overpriced all day breakfast I've ever had. Nearly £9.00 for one under cooked piece of toast, two pieces of under cooked bacon, the cheapest sausage money can buy, along with a few lukewarm beans and an egg with an overcooked yoke. Luckily I was able to feed most of it to my two dogs under the table.

The food was terrible, the milkshake was lukewarm, and all day breakfast was overpriced and undercooked. I would not go here again, and I do not recommend unless you like cheap sausages and store bought milkshakes.

The menu stated they were newly opened and therefore it had a limited choice. The choices were very minimal, we decided to stay to show support to the new business, however we saw a number of people look at the menu and leave. The positives were the staff were friendly and the decor was nice. The negative for us was the price. We paid £28 for two people to have a drink and an English breakfast. The English breakfast consisted of one sausage, 2 rashers of bacon, fried egg, toast, and beans, which cost £9 each. We just felt some mushrooms or a fried tomato should have been included in this price.Just to note for some people the venue is not wheelchair friendly, which the business can't do much about, but its worth noting if you're visiting.Overall its a nice venue and we wish them well with the new venture, but maybe rethink the menu or prices.

Decided to visit here after checking the menu in the window. Ordered a toasted teacake and a frothy hot chocolate, the toasted teacake was very nice, plenty of butter on it. My only complaint would be the frothy hot chocolate was barely over three quarters of a cup full, which for £3 is a bit disappointing.

We called in at lunchtime for an excellent all day breakfast. The food was good quality and freshly cooked to order. The staff were efficient and very friendly. The decor was pleasing and everywhere was spotlessly clean. We would certainly recommend.

Gluten free sandwiches. Really fresh good food and helpful, well informed ataff. They were very aware of the importance of true gluten free for our coeliac daughter even opening fresh butter for us. A great pluss that the dog was welcomed too.

Went in for lunch, collected a menu from the counter and said hello to the man working there who just looked at me blankly and said nothing. After 15 minutes no one has taken my order so went to order at the counter and was told someone would be over.. 10 minutes later and the waitress went and took the order for the table next to me who had been sat there since I’d arrived. Gave it 5 more minutes and then left.Only wanted to order the soup!
