Not a real beach" in the normal sense. It is a sea wall with a small stoney beach with limited access routes. It is really a wildlife and nature area with a lot of interesting features."

Bradwell Beach
Very quiet little beach, no car access as its gated, so on foot, bike or motorbike only. Beautiful views and nothing but the sound of the water.

Great for solitude. Otherwise ok. It's brilliant if you want some peace and quiet with some decent nature around you. You may not be impressed if you are looking for a sandy beach with some spectacular views. You need to park some 10 minutes away from the beach and then walk. Getting to the secluded beach requires going through a bit of mud, usually, or going around extra 10 minutes. It's not a big deal as the walk is quite peasent, but be prepared. It's probably the nearest beach from north London.

Visited on a bank holiday Monday and there's no crowds, just a few walkers and families enjoying the beach. The nearest car park being a (fast) 5 minute walk away and the Dengie Peninsula being fairly remote probably keeps the crowds away. The ancient Chapel of St. Peter is worth a visit and the walks either way towards the saltmarsh or along the sea wall to where the Blackwater meets the sea are worthwhile, with views across to Mersea Island.
