I think for most members Bike Register does a good job. However there maybe the odd few certainly myself that this has failed miserably. I registered my bike several years ago with Bike Register. In the summer of this year I was hurt when I came off my bike. A detective took the bike to a police station while I was taken to hospital. A few weeks later I went to pick it up but found it wasn't there or at any other police station. After many enquiries I am no nearer to getting answers. I cannot blame BR entirely. What gets me is an officer said to me honestly speaking that they just don't have the time to check all of the bikes! Even on this BR. So tell me what is the point of getting my bike registered on here if the police don't check frame numbers identifying the who owners is??? Like I said I m sure it's great for the vast majority but if one half of the scheme (police) don't have the time to do their part then what is the point? What is the point In BR affiliating themselves with those that don't do their part?. I really thought I was doing a good thing and improving my chances of getting it back by joining BR as I really loved my bike but now I just want to close my account.

Worked like a charm. I was messaged the day after posting on BikeRegister by a member of the public who had found my bike discarded by their house and arranged to pick it up from them later.

My bike was registered on Bike Register by the local police who were running a scheme to prevent bike thefts in Bristol 3 years ago. This proved valuable when my bike was stolen 2 days ago, but after sharing on social media, a member of the public spotted my bike in a bush and was able to see that it had been reported stolen and was able to contact me via Facebook. I was reunited with my bike and it was such a relief as I really loved that bike. I am grateful for the community and was so glad I took the opportunity to register my bike at the time. I was one of the lucky ones I think due to the high number of bike thefts in Bristol!

What is there not to like about something that exists to help you recover your stolen bike? It's clear, simple but comprehensive and I would recommend it unreservedly.

Someone saw my updated status and an ad on fb for an identical bike and contacted me. I was then able to follow up the ad and recover our bike

A resident of the next village over contacted me via bikeregister after finding my stolen bike abandoned in a park, and then subsequently finding it listed on the site as stolen. After popping over to confirm it was indeed my bike, I actually decided to let them keep it, as it is of low value and I had already purchased another bike as a replacement. Good on the family for doing the right thing and getting in touch though! It has now found a new lease of life being ridden around by their young daughter. A happy outcome thanks to bikeregister - I am glad it has gone to a good home :)So I highly recommend registering your bike on bikeregister - if the worst should happen and your bike is stolen, perhaps you will be lucky and someone will be able to get in touch with you as they did me! Although in this case the bike was old and of low value, it's a good proof of the system. I have my more expensive bikes registered on the site also and now feel very vindicated for having done so! Bravo.

Many thanks to Bike Register for enabling local police to trace me and return my bike. Very happy to see it returned.

These people are thieves. I registered my bike with this mob on 17th November 2022. I also paid £20ish quid for a 'permanent marker' kit, which never arrived. When I contacted them for support, I was given ticket no. #351350. I was told I would have to wait until at least 5th December before they could help. The 5th came and went a d I contacted them again asking for a refund. I have not heard anything from them since. It seems they have pocketed my cash and do not intend to provide the foods I paid for. My advice to anyone is keep your money and avoid these thieves like the plague.

Really easy to apply the markings and it's a great deterrent to theft
