Will it ever open?? Dragging through 3 years plus. Moving and changing the dates? National Rail is useless as the station looks complete since December 22 at least?? Just come on adjust the timetables!!! Ridiculous standard of work

Reading Green Park is an amazing new station. It is fully step free. It gets on most days two trains per hour in each direction apart from Sunday. It has sufficient car parking spaces.

I visited the new station which looks impressive although not open until summer 2023 for passengers, there is a new Tesco express opposite which has recently opened, good array of products but a little expensive, staff are really friendly there is wheelchair access to the store

Station looks relatively clean and it thankfully has toilets. Unfortunately, signage is poor so you wouldn't easily know how to get to the station. Also, there are no bus services from this station despite the presence of a bus gate and some bus stops, so workers from the south would have to walk (however, the nearest bus stop is only a short walk away.) Residents surrounding the area will have better access to Central Reading and I'm sure they're thankful for this. There is also a Tesco Extra near this station, which is convenient.

Love the station, although it will probably be crowded on matchdays.

It's unfair that this station got so many negative reviews before it even opened! The station itself is great and does everything one could expect of a small-ish station in outer Reading. It has two platforms linked by a footbridge with lifts (so fully accessible), and a station building containing toilets, ticket machines, and a help desk (which is good to see in a new station!). It is served by a half-hourly service in each direction between Reading and Basingstoke, and is very well located for the nearby development which is taking shape. The downside is that there's no enclosed waiting rooms (other than the station building) so passengers will have to wait under canopies or in 'bus stop' style shelters on the platforms, which could be unpleasant in poor weather conditions.

Buy a physical ticket if you are traveling to this station. You can't tap out with contactless OR oyster card. The staff will make you buy a ticket and tell you you can get a refund on your card by calling a number, but no one picks up. Ridiculous system.

Drove to the station today but did not catch a train. Signage to the station is really poor or rather non-existent. I got there with help from Google maps. There is a long stay car park about 30 seconds from the station and you can pay by card or GoRingo. There is also a disabled car park with about 6 20 minute free car parking spaces to pick people up/drop them off. The road to the front of station is signed for buses and taxis only and is signed with 'Bus gate' on road. I suspect Reading Borough will eventually fine though who drive up to the front and wait. There is other car parking in the area but it's on private land and you might get charged. The station building looks good and there is a ticket machine outside when building is closed. Station has lifts. Service is half hourly on Monday to Saturday and hourly on Sunday. 03/06/23 - Signage to station is still non-existent. Took a train from station to Reading today. Bought a ticket from ticket machine. I didn’t see a ticket office only a desk. Access to other platforms is either via the steps or lift. Although there is a bus shelter type arrangement with a narrow benches, there is plenty of space for additional seating which is useful when waiting for a train every 30 minutes.
