Scourie Hotel

Doing the NC500 and was after a place to stay, came across this place, their clients are normally people up for the weekend for fly fishing as they have boats and tackle for hire but we were glad we booked.The rooms are lovely, cosy, clean and have some nice little touches like my partner was impressed with the make up remover pads and cotton wool. My only niggle was the shower pressure wasn't great but it worked not much they can do.They also had a Nespresso machine, hairdryer and radio as the room didn't have a TV because you'll find yourself sat Infront of the log fire with a drink from the bar talking to the other guests about your day.The menu at the restaurant changes daily but it was some of the finest cooking we've had in ages which that day icluded venison from the local estate and smoked haddock.The restaurant also boasts an impressive wine and champagne selection.The breakfast included quality ingredients cooked to perfection with the sweetness of the roasted vine tomatoes going well with the salty smoked bacon and quality sausage.All in all we had a lovely time and were served by lovely friendly people in the bar and restaurant would definitely stop again.

My wife and I stayed for a night in early May and words cannot express how wonderful the experience was. The service was outstanding, the rooms were exquisitely decorated, and the food was every bit as good as the Michelin restaurants we had earlier in our trip. A true gem in the northwest of Scotland.

Loved it. Absolutely loved the headboard on the bed with the Highland cows on it. Fantastic friendly staff. Only thing that could have been improved was the breakfast (not the quality, as it was delicious, but had to ask for butter with my toast and also assumed toast should come automatically with the full Scottish breakfast, but had to ask for that too)Coffee was the most delicious filter coffee I have ever had. It was fantastic. Would definitely come back to stay

Old world standards first class in all aspects. Food was excellent and service to match.

Was advised we would be able to have food here as we were staying overnight in nearby campsite, however when we walked there my husband checked with a member of staff advising we were staying in the campsite and was looking to have food at the hotel the member of staff said NO"

Welcoming and friendly staff, our room was spacious and nice, and the breakfast was wonderful. Best chocolate croissants we have ever had!

Stayed for one night in June 2021. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at - it was as if the owners were welcoming you into their family home. The customer service was exemplary, whilst the food (breakfast/dinner) was high quality with sizeable portions. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds - there are no televisions but frankly you don't need one with such a warm and welcoming lounge and bar area. Would highly recommend, even at the slightly higher cost.

I made a booking at this hotel, 3 months in advance of my intended stay. Shortly afterwards I realised I’d made a mistake and needed to cancel.I contacted the property within a matter of hours of making the booking and requested to cancel.Eventually they got back to me and cancelled the booking, withholding a £30 booking fee. This is over 20% of the entire booking cost.I appreciate that deposits are in place to stop people abusing the system, and in some cases to cover online banking fees.However, for a booking made 3 months in advance and cancelled almost immediately, this is an appalling display of greed and mean spiritedness.

We cannot say enough good things about the Scourie hotel!It’s certainly quirky and traditional, but very homey while being very modern and extremely clean. The grounds and patio space are well kept and really lovely if the weather is nice!We had made our reservation online 2 hours prior to our arrival due to a change of plans, and they were ready for us upon our arrival. Fiona who checked us in was very welcoming and kind, going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we might need.The room was beautiful with a very nice courtyard view and the bed was extremely comfortable as well. There were some lovely touches in the room, including a Keurig machine with espresso pods! The bathroom had recently been redone and we wished we could pick it up and bring it back with us to install in our own home. The bath tub was very long which was fantastic as my partner is 6’4” and so could very comfortably fit in it!Food was out of this world, definitely have at least one meal here!Such a lovely and comforting atmosphere, truly an oasis in the highlands, we only wished we could’ve stayed longer!

Room 5 very noisey maybe from a services room below even with the windows and curtans closed, had to put the kettle on the floor to boil the water as the electric plug was to short to put it on the bench safely.Only offered a fixed three course meal for dinner.
