I’m new to this surgery unfortunately as my old Gp surgery shut down. Very unhelpful receptionist. Careless. They just go by the book. No human touch at all. Gp prescribed me an antibiotic and told me to collect them at Asda pharmacy within 15-20 minutes. I have been waiting at the pharmacy over an hour with my one year old as the Gp didn’t sent the prescription. The pharmacist told me to call Gp surgery. At first phone call the receptionist insisted that the prescription will be done by the end of the day. Mind you my appointment was at 10am. She insisted that the pharmacy will call me when my prescription is ready and advice to me to hang around the pharmacy. I live 20 minutes away and have 3 kids to pick up from school and nursery. When I told her that I will double check with the pharmacist the receptionist put the phone down saying that she will seal to the gp. After 20 minutes I checked and still no prescription so I called back again and the receptionist refused to give a note to that gp as she probably forgot about me as she is busy with other patients. From my experience I do know that receptionist can send messages to the gps directly from their Pc. She didn’t care that I have been waiting there over an hour with1 yr old and that I wasn’t feeling well. Rude and unhelpful. I’m currently looking for a new surgery. Also I have been waiting nearly 3 weeks now for them to set up my online account so I can order my children’s medication. I’m still unable to do it. Avoid if you want decent surgery especially if you have kids.Edit: the surgery send me a message with link to deal with my experience. The link did not work so instead I send an email which they provided and guess what.. no reply. Last week I have ordered prescription creams for my children. I got an automated email saying that it will be dealt with by yesterday. I went to the pharmacy, I checked my emails and messages and nothing.

I was registered with this surgery last year. And had to attend regularly for assistance in changing some dressings, after I had surgery. Thank you for all your kind and wonderful support. All the nurses I would visit were amazing, professional and kind. And the reception staff were very helpful as well. A great little surgery to be registered with.

Was with Shelley Manor for 12 years. Now with Holdenhurst. It can take a while of repeat appointments about the same thing before they fully understand your needs and get the meds right. They have to be very careful, obviously. Always polite and courteous, and none of the reception staff do that thing where they think they know better than the Docrors themselves. God, I hate that. So all in all, both are great surgeries. I have had very complex medical problems and they have always looked after me.

Ive had a condition my whole life, profusely sweating. Its caused me so much anxiety and depression aswell as not being able to work. Its been a consistent problem where by no doctor was able to help me. I saw Dr savage very upset, he asked me to wait a day or two whilst he did some investigation. He phoned me back the next day with two prescriptions for me to collect. Im 34 next month and Dr savage has transformed my life, its early days but much more managable. All of the doctors ive seen about this issue told me there was nothing that could be done. Dr Savage took the time to investigate and help me like no other Doctor i have met. I am truely greatful for your time and expertise, you are such a wonderful doctor and its very apparent that you really do care for your patients.Forever thankful!Rebecca phillips

I have been with this practice for many years now and have always been very satisfied with the care/treatment received. Staff are friendly, attentive and helpful which makes interacting easy. I mostly go to Holdenhurst Road as that's the local one to me, but happily go to Shelley Manor if it means a sooner appointment for some things like a blood test. The level of service there is equally as good and I'm grateful to be a patient with this surgery.

it can be a little busy on the phone and in the surgery its self but well that's okay friendly staff and they try to do there best so noting real bad to say it can get confusing with Holdenhurst and shelly manor but that too okay just have to clarify and be clam, clear and understandable as well as respectful and you get the same back that simple really and it can seem like there rush you but they prob got alot going on so again just being clam, clear and understandable and its fine

Caring and professional staff from reception to nurses and doctors. It´s understandable that with all the constrictions the NHS is going through timing can be sometimes not ideal, but i felt how my GP and other professionals were doing their best in a difficult time for me. I feel extremely thankful to all of them.

My wife went to our GP and asked for an appointment. the receptionist sent her to the wrong address. Conclusion: it was an afternoon completely wasted due to her lack of attention. To improve the service, adequate training must be given to employees, otherwise the service will become invalid.

More than happy with the care my husband and myself receive from the team. Receptionists, clinical staff and doctors are all very helpful. Yes, you can wait a while on the phone but have always been treated courteously and had a face to face appointment when necessary.

My wife and I have been with this surgery for many years. We have always been able to get through to the receptionist although it sometime takes a little while which is understandable under the circumstances.Staff have been courteous and helpful when we have needed advice and put us through to Doctors or Nurses or made sure they got back to us. They have put our minds at rest many times.
