Barchester - Kingsland House Care Home

Kingsland house has a warm welcoming feel to it, as soon as you enter. The staff are extremely supportive and treat everyone as an invidual. The residents are a happy bunch which says a lot for their surroundings.

Absolute abysmal company.No care for their staff or residents. The only people that care about the residents is those that take care of them. Management really don’t care- residents are just a number.Everything is just for show.They’ll make you think that they do their upmost to support the residents and staff in this home but In reality they make the staff work short staffed, with no appreciation or recognition. The stress they put staff under pushes them to breaking point. (although management will tell you otherwise.) and the care for residents is not person centred but purely a tick box exercise that the management/company push on their hard working staff members.They have been reported to CQC many times in the past.Those looking for somewhere for their friends/relatives or those looking for a job- stay clear.

It was a real pleasure to visit Barchester Home yesterday. I had great meeting with Donna, the Activities Co-ordinator and Karen, the manager of the home about a multi-generational project involving their residents and local school children. The project is the brain-child of Shoreham's Ropetackle Theatre and will lead to a production there in March 2022. It was clear from the discussion that Donna and Karen would bring their invaluable experience and expertise to the workshops. Thank you both!

My father unfortunately had been very ill and needed the full care of a nursing home. After looking at the home I was very happy for him to be taken into care in the home. It was very clean with friendly knowledgeable staff and people willing to spend time helping him although his patience was not always as expected. The food was very good and there was a good menu. The room was kept very clean and any issues could be raised with a member of staff. I was very pleased with Kingsland House and would recommend anybody going to look for a nursing home to go and look themselves.

From the minute I first walked into Kingsland House, there was a warm atmosphere that feels welcoming. It felt right from first impressions onwards. Kingsland House have been amazing with my Mum and incredibly supportive on her journey to end of life. They have been so welcoming and supportive to me also. Sometimes life throughs us tragedy and we have to negotiate it as best we can, I highly recommend Kingsland House for all placements but I am particularly grateful to their nursing care during this heartbreaking time. They radiate human kindness and compassion, a clear person centred care approach with personal touches that go along way.I believe my Mum was Karen's last intake and essentially James's first, I can not speak highly enough of both these Managers. I am grateful to them for giving me hope in a time there felt like there was none, for approaching the situation with such strength and being so kind.There is a great team at Kingsland, with in a short period of time it felt like home and there was such great support from the Nursing team and Caring team. Kingsland House aloud us to meet my Mother's last wishes, I will be eternally grateful of that. I am grateful for every conversation of support I had from the team, I am grateful of the human kindness they showed my Mum and how well they handle every part of the journey. I am an experienced Music Entertainer and would like to say that I find Kingsland House one of my most enjoyable places to perform in! The staff are fantastic from the off at getting the residents involved in the music, singing along, with accompanying percussion and dancing along with the residents. At no time were residents left unattended, so that despite all the excitement and activity, they were safe and hydrated in the warm weather! I was most impressed by what I would call 'The Kingsland Community Spirit' and would thoroughly recommend it as a tonic for the soul ! I can't wait for my next dose...and I'm not even a resident!!

Kingsland House has a real warm friendly atmosphere and throughout the pandemic everyone has done there best to keep everyone safe. The team of staff really care about the residents and their families….

Mum has been at Kingsland since December. She feels so safe and cared for and they make so much effort to engage all the residents. We couldn’t ask for more.

The assessment process was simple and we are extremely happy with the attentiveness of not only the General Manager Karen but of the management team as a whole. The home appeared clean, homely and welcoming. Upon arrival, Karen visited us personally to welcome us to the home and answer any questions we had. Overall we are delighted with not only the care of the staff so far, but of the presentation and cleanliness of the home/rooms as well.

I do not give this place 1 star i give it 0 stars. Do not send ur loved ones here. There understaffed and badly run what you see is all staged until the relatives are gone. They didnt know how to look after my mother she had Huntingtons and they didn't know how to look after her properly. And because off there poor decision making I lost my mother. Do not send ur relatives and loved ones here biggest mistake the hospital sending my mother here.
