Staff at the bar were fantastic, very welcoming.Manager welcomed us to the table but the table wasn't appropriate for us so he found us another quickly.Service was excellent, didn't have to wait too long for food and it was gorgeous. We attended with a 30% off voucher but actually would attend without the price discount due to the staff and delicious food.Well done guys!

We recently went for our work Xmas meal and it was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience. Despite there being approximately 40 people in attendance, the staff did the very best they could whilst serving all of their other customers. The food was very nice (especially the sticky toffee pudding!), the staff were helpful and the atmosphere was excellent. Those of us who ordered the carvery (roughly 30 people) had to queue for a bit, but that is obviously to be expected and is by no means a negative reflection of the service or the staff, who were working as hard as they could. Our boss was more than happy to assist the staff wherever she could, such as allowing them to place the desserts on the centre table and we could distribute them to the relevant person based on the order list she was carrying. All in the Christmas spirit! Our company have used the Knot & Plough for our Xmas meal for several years now, and the experience has always been excellent. This time was no different. I would be more than happy to drink and dine there any time of the year, and we hope the establishment will welcome us back there for our Xmas meal in the future. They have certainly squeezed us in at the last minute on more than one occasion in the past.On a final note, I would like to remind the staff that the opinion of one individual does not reflect that of the entire group, nor our company. Thanks for a lovely experience as always! :)

This was terrible all around . Got there for 11 cos that’s what it says online the cars very is open . Paid for 2 carvery’s at 11.08 sat down only to be told after paying that carvery was at 12 so ok we allready ordered drinks at this point so we had to wait . 12 o’clock comes we are the first ones at the carvery on the face of it everything looked nice and fresh and good but after we sat down too eat the carvery there was no taste too any of the food like none what so ever don’t know how the chief’s managed it he’s a genius lol . Told the manager the food is terrible she laughed thinking i was joking when she realised I weren’t she offered something else FairPlay but we never bothered and left . Worst carvery I have ever tasted by far and the gravy was like water and so greasy aswell

Had a great evening with the kids, the food was great I really adored the roast potatoes and gravy! Oh and the happy cheerful waitress Ellie with dark hair I think. Kept the kids happy with some children in need songs and some early Christmas songs! They loved it more than the food!

Extremely pleasantly surprised by our visit. It was such a lovely evening. We had a 30% off voucher for being a neighbour to the pub so decided to attend. The atmosphere in the pub was really nice, everyone was quietly chatting, the staff were really friendly, food was very good , the music wasn’t too loud. Will definitely be returning.

Attended the Breakfast with the Grinch event with my 2 Grandchildren. Lovely time was had by all - Children were entranced and thoroughly enjoyed themselves singing, dancing and playing games with the Grinch and his sidekick. Would really recommend and will be sure to book next year. We visit the Knot most weeks for dinner and the staff are always very helpful - give great service and the food is always fresh and hot! Please pass on our thanks to everyone

Booked breakfast with the grinch, booking a 10am slot. When we arrived the grinch was involved in a game with children already there from previous time slots. He then announced he was leaving at 10.15 so the children in our party didn't get a chance and we had to quickly join the queue for a photo which was the only interaction they managed to get before he left. The breakfast itself was just standard, with pretty much the equivalent of a tablespoon of beans and the bacon, being the streaky kind which was pretty much a pile of fat so didn't get eaten. Was also very surprised that the price of this being £10 for an adult yet the breakfast did not include toast or a drink and we had to pay a further charge whilst there for our drinks making the experience that we booked more expensive that we originally thought upon paying the 'full' amount when booking. Compared to other places we have been where the charge includes toast and drinks and you get seen individually to make it fair for all, this is not worth the money we paid
