I work heavily in the travel industry and quite by chance I came upon this place. When first I walked in it was a nice relaxing atmosphere. Decided to look at the menu for something to eat and had the rump steak (Steak or the day). It arrived in a reasonable time I think maybe 15 min. It looked and tasted delicious. Thank you for a great service and I shall be back when I am next in the area. Wonderful polite staff.

Lovely time spent in their garden. Lots of space and tables with umbrellas for shade. Good choice of food for lunch. Had the chicken, pesto and tomato sandwich which came with crisps and salad on lovely brown wholemeal bread, definitely recommend. Also the garlic, cheese skun on flies which were also very nice. Looking forward to returning

Booked for Thursday lunch for inside tables as disabled persons in the group.Had visited the place to check accessibility and confirmed booking. When arrived they had given our three tables away. We were on time and ended up having to sit outside, food good but 50min delay was a bit much.

We have been for the last two Sundays. Beautiful setting by the river Stour. Boats sail past plus canoes and paddle boards. There has been live music playing each time we've been and both times that has been really good. Not eaten there but the food smells and looks really good. There are outside games to keep the children amused. In the summertime on a hot sunny day it's hard to find anywhere better.

Visited here a couple of weeks ago to enquire about a pre Christmas lunch for the family and to look at the Christmas Fair they had going on. Staff couldn't be bothered, toilet dirty at 10.10am!! Then last week I received a £60 parking ticket for the privilege of parking outside!! I'd asked about parking because of the family lunch and the girl told me that it was no problem, there was plenty of it!! She didn't say you had to pay for it!! The coffee was expensive and luke warm! What a rip off!! I certainly won't be going back there again!! WTch out for the parking !!!

Lovely place to visit for a decent meal and drink, for the dogs as well with the dog menu! Great food and atmosphere. The only downside is you do have to pay for parking which isn't clear so we got a ticket. But we'll remember for next time.

Didn't stay so can't comment on rooms, nice pub, lovely location , busy but that didn't slow the service so no complaints there , had dinner which was ok, the chips were quite greasy and thin fries but that's just me preferring a real chip, my only complaint was the toilets which if I had seen first I probably wouldn't have eaten there, it was obvious they hadn't been cleaned or checked throughout the day , I get staff are busy but these things are important, they were dirty, paper towels over spilling the bin and just needed someone to get in there and freshen them up. The location is perfect on the river and is busy with boats ect .

My first experience of a Shepherd Neame pub and less than impressed.Food was served with no cutlery and we had to ask for sauces. My meal was cold and had to be sent back 3 times before it was warm.Shame as when I eventually got to eat it (alone as my family had finished theirs) the burger was well cooked, seasoned well and very tasty.Food served to another party on my table was also cold and again this had to be sent back. The attitude of some staff was not of a standard that I would expect to receive as a paying customer.Overall a very disappointing experience.

We went there for a quick lunch a couple of weeks ago parked in the PUB car park. Had lunch, was there an hour and a half. 2 weeks later recieved a penalty notice for £100 for parking in a pub car park. Apparently there are signs that you have to register your number plate at the bar. I don’t go for lunch to read signs in pub car parks in pub bars or on pub walls. We were greeted by a man as soon as we walked in who asked a member of staff to serve our drinks and another member of staff to seat us. At no point did either of these 3 staff care to ask if we parked in the car park!! It was very quiet. 2-3 tables maximum. I’ve appealed stating exactly what we ate and drank and it’s been refused. Absolutely disgusting for a small run of the mill country pub to be ripping people off like this. I will not be a customer ever again and will encourage everyone I speak to to avoid this disgusting place.

Lovely atmosphere and beautiful surrounding landscape with the canal right next to the dining area. Large garden area too! Food was lovely and very good size portions. Women's toilets were nice and clean, although my partner commented on the men's toilet being broken and not properly attached to the floor. Overall nice experience :)
