Have been a few times before and always enjoyed the coffee and food..Visited yesterday with my sister who was a bit dubious as had been before and wasn't all that impressed. All that has changed however after having 'one of the best bacon rolls ever'! Lovely staff, great food and the ethos of the place makes it somewhere good to eat in centre of townPart of the charm too was the mixed crowd..

My favorite place to come for lunch while we stayed in Dumfries - menu changes with what they have/is seasonal and I loved all of it!

Often come in here. Always a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere and lovely food.A pot of tea is good value and you get 3 cups from it.

Lovely bright friendly café. Very dog friendly. I’m not from Dumfries but you could see from posters etc that it is well used by the community and all kinds of people were popping in for a tea and a bite to eat. Friendly staff. A model for other towns.

Went inside as it was too hot to sit outside. Plenty of free tablesJust inside the door and one of the staff was bringing outside chairs in? Were informed that the cafe closed at 3pm...(was 2.30pm at this point).Didn't want anything heavy so I ordered a cappuccino and a toasted teacake. My husband wanted a cold drink so tried an iced latte for the first time, nothing wrong with it but just not to his taste...My cappuccino was lovely but the teacake was totally flat (flatter than a pancake) as it had been toasted in a panini machine and was extremely hot and was like a biscuit... I brought this up with the staff who were not apologetic and didn't offer to reimburse me but just stated that's how it's always done here"... I'm afraid that's not an excuse. I did explain that a teacake is usually just cut in half and the inner surface is toasted but got nowhere...Service was OK initially until teacake problem. Place was clean enough and prices so so..."

Great café with lovely staff. Visited yesterday. The town was very busy with the UCI cycling event and the cafe was in demand but the food and service was its usual high standard.
