Zaks Waterside Grill & Bar
The food was tasty - the burger was amazing, fries not so much. The service here was very disappointing. I kindly reminded one of the waitresses that she forgot something on my plate, she didn’t apologise nor seem to care. All of the servers were miserable - there was no atmosphere at all. We overheard them moaning about another customer to each other as well. We weren’t checked in on during our meal & it was hard to get their attention to order another drink.This one waitress who brought us the bill deliberately avoided us for ages when we were trying to get her attention for the card machine. Although their shirts said “welcome to the family”, we certainly didn’t feel welcome. I have never seen such poor service, we will not be returning. It was more like Karen’s diner than Zak’s diner. I would only advise visiting if you want to be greeted by a miserable atmosphere.

Good food and service. Would not go to celebrate something special. But if just to eat it's delicious food. We had chicken / rib combo. Ribs was the best we have ever tried. Didn't like the coleslaw.

This was the first time I had seen Zaks waterside in daylight and was in for a shock as I didn’t realise they also served breakfast until 11:00hrs at weekends which is a fantastic choice, the only thing that lets them down on there breakfast is the lack of options on the menu 7 choices all very large dishes as can be seen on the pictures.Once inside Zaks we where greeted straight away and discovered we where the only customers in the restaurant. This was a shame as the restaurants has options to expand and get more footfall through the door for breakfast. The refillable filter coffee ( thankfully not from a machine like some restaurants ) and tea is a always a winner. Breakfast was very quick to turn up, however if the restaurant had have been full with only 2 waiting staff and one chef I think the wait would have been a bit longer. All in from the time we entered to choosing to receiving our food we waited no longer than 20 minutes . Portion size is great, bigger than J D Weatherspoons and a few other local nearby places. Quality of the food was good as well. The sausage patty was good quality fried eggs cooked to order , however I think the pancakes may have been the microwave ones as I noticed whilst eating them cold patches in them yet they where still cooked.Staff are fantastic and a definite reason to go back. They smiled throughout where attentive but also left us to talk in private at the same time.The building itself looks like it needs some TLC in respect of decorating. Admittedly they are probably open 7 days of the week 9am until 10pm but I would recommend maybe closing for one or two breakfast shifts to bring in the decorators . As you will see by one of the pictures I took a wall which is meant to be white has gone yellow with damp which means it can’t be healthy to work in for 9hrs a day or for customers to eat there food near.All in all this is a good restaurant that I would have no hesitation recommending to family and friends alike and would hope to see them get there internal redecorating up to date. I spoke to one of the waitress on the way out and she said the restaurant has been the same as long as she can remember.

I love coming to Zak’s, ever since I was a little girl each year for my birthday! The food is incredible. I love the burgers and chips. Everyone is always so welcoming. They do the best lemon and lime drink!

Best place for American-style food in Norwich. I went this evening with my partner, we didn't book and it was rammed but they managed to set us up with a table anyway. We were then informed that there is a Thursday night deal where you get two burgers or hot dogs for the price of one, which is incredibly good value for money. The food came and my partner and I had eaten and gone in 30 minutes, just to emphasise how speedy our service was. The food was phenomenal and at an extremely reasonable price compared to other restaurants, truly a classic.

Do apologise, food was great, so much I couldn't finish mine, everyone with me loved it too. Food was smashing thanks Chefs' and the waiters were really nice, very sociable and pleasant. The music and atmosphere are fantastic as always. 11/10 Cheers for a great meal and time :)

Zaks Waterside Grill & Bar
Have been a regular customer at Zaks over the years but unfortunately on my last visit we were not very impressed. The burger rolls had clearly been defrosted and then toasted but the top half my roll was almost frozen in the middle. Hope this was a one off. Did try to to write to management on facebook to explain the situation but didn't receive a reply.

Zaks Waterside Grill & Bar
Delicious meal at Zaks last week - Super quick service and very friendly and welcoming staff. Food was so tasty and fresh. Only downside is lack of parking but luckily I managed to get a space before it got too busy. I hadn't been to the Waterside one in years but I will be returning very soon :)
