This is definitely top 5 star rating. The ethos is all about ensuring the animal is happy. We have a nervous dog who in 10 years has never been caged, kennelled or stayed with anyone other than immediate family, and so was unsure how she would react to such a different environment.What an amazing job Lloyd, Hannah and Ellis have done, they spent time getting to know her, walking her in the paddock, taking her in and out of kennels and when she spent her first night with them she came into the reception wagging her tail and completely calm and happy.Can't praise them enough, and when you listen there is hardly any sounds from the dogs as they are not barking in distress. This is the best place for a pet to stay and come home happy

Honestly the best place,I have a very anxious dog that was told she had to be in no contact kennels, un till we met Lloyd the work he has done with my dog is amazing for 7 years noone has got close to her and he managed to take her for walks and best of all Cuddles, lots of communication including pictures of the time she was there.We have been coming to Hydegate for 6 years and this is the best time away she has had!! Definitely recommending to everyone I know!! Thank you all again you have been AMAZING!!!

We have used Hydegate for around 10 years now and it used to be a really nice place. Not any more!!! It was so good we used to travel about 2 hour round trip to take our dog there. Im not sure whats happened but its gone down hill - badly. When we used to pick up our dog we would get full updates, not anymore, the staff are not as friendly and up until a few months ago an extremely rude man would answer the phone. Anyway, we had our dog booked in about 3 or 4 times for the upcoming months until i had a phone call- all of our bookings have gone up in price- a large increase. Now we all understand the cost of living etc etc but to put up prices AFTER the customer has booked is unprofessional. You should honor all bookings and any future bookings should include price rise. Had all of the other factors been good we would have still kept our bookings but they arnt. Its not the kennels it used to be- they dont seem to care anymore. We have now taken our business elsewhere now.

Our sincere thanks to the team at Hydegate. Lloyd, Lauren and Adiq have gone above and beyond to help our anxious pooch to become acclimatised to Hydegate. Their patience, understanding, experience and genuine desire to help our boy has been really over-whelming. We had a major milestone last weekend with Milo’s first sleepover at Hydegate and all went really well. Doggy day care this weekend with more planned as we work towards a weeks stay in July – fingers crossed. Thanks to the team there now really starting to feel like this could become a reality. Thank you guys so much – can’t recommend you and Hydegate enough.

Hannah and Lloyd were fantastic with our dog and he was always excited to go to hydegate. Unfortunately the owner has raised the prices an astronomical amount claiming its to do with the cost of living but we have since found places that charge less than half (almost a third) of the cost of hydegate. Would go back if prices dropped back to an affordable amount but would need to take out a loan to cover this insane price increase!

Hiko my Akita had his first overnight stay there this weekend he is a very sensitive Akita & doesn't like change but he did very well there they sent me photos of him which was really nice all the staff are so friendly & take all your dogs needs on board I will never use another kennels from now on thank you ...

Our elderly dog Bobby stayed for a week and Lloyd, Hannah and all the staff were brilliant, Bobby needed lots of fuss and attention which we could see when we collected him that he got.. he’s quite fussy who he’s friends with but he went to all the staff for a fuss, I would definitely recommend Hydegate, they have restored our confidence that we can leave him there and take a holiday knowing he’s happy.Thanks a million Lloyd and the gang..

I am honestly at a loss to see why some dogs and owners seem to get preferential treatment, based on recent reviews. My dogs, Twix and Clover lost 1kg and half a kilo respectively while here for 5 days (they're small dogs), and we received NO contact from Hydegate while we were away, yet other owners have had plenty of updates and photos.My partner has already reviewed with more detail about their stay, but the 'authenticity' of the low scores is being called into question, and I had to say something. Booking Reference: HPRB009697 if you don't believe me. You can see from these photos that he is visibly smaller in the first two, while the ones of him resting on the sofa and from outside Starbucks are from the days just before we left. He was a healthy sturdy little guy when we left, and when we came back, he was much skinnier and it is not okay.

Thank you to the team at Hydegate!Our dog is not naturally trusting of humans and this has been a challenge for us (and her) when she needs to go into kennels.We were greeted by Lloyd who explained how the Hydegate team now have behavioral expertise and work with the dogs to understand the best way to support a positive stay. She was housed in a kennel appropriate to her needs and went out for walks (we didn't think she would tolerate a stranger attaching a lead) which was great for her. The team even managed to give her coat a brush!The team were very understanding, attentive and responsive to our questions and concerns about leaving her.I wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Our daughter took her darling kitten here while we went on holiday. Tootsie was very happy here. She had a pod and she had access to outside which was good for her because she is a indoor cat. We had pics sent to us every day I would highly recommend this for cats or dogs. Very reasonably priced aswell.
