Courtyard Cafe
Unfortunately the hot chocolate was not good today but the Victoria sponge was one of the best I have had. They do meal deals snacks at breakfast & hot drink & slice of cake for £4 in afternoon. Check times on menu before ordering as some staff members do not know deals & you may be charged full price. Up until end of October annual membership card holders get 2 for 1 on hot drinks. Lovely touch that the sparrows wait for you to finish then clears up the crumbs.

Decided to have a spot of lunch here whilst visiting the park and it's a lovely location however our experience wasn't great. Upon entering the cafe we joined a queue of approximately 10 people which given it was lunchtime was expected, unfortunately only one member of staff was serving causing the wait time to be extended. Once we reached the till to order we found that the items we wanted were sold out, two of the four options on their menu, at 12:40pm when the cafe is open till 3pm. We did manage to get food for the children which the quality was good but let down by the overall experience.

Good place to meet friends for coffee. The staff are friendly and coffee is always hot. Plenty of snacks, sweet and savoury, to tempt you. The cafe does tend to be noisy, with hard floors and solid wooden tables and chairs (not very comfortable). Everywhere is accessible. Toilets are always clean. Plenty of parking if you arrive early. The courtyard is a fair walk from the parking, but there are always birds to see en route! It's well worth visiting the exhibition space - where there's a GoGo Hare" and also the gift shop. The children's indoor and outdoor play areas look tempting. Sadly I'm too old to try it out!"

We enjoyed our snack here, Sandwiches were presented well with a few crisps and lettuce. Children's sandwiches were only offered in white bread and in a plastic bag which surprised me. Given that it is a nature reserve I would have like to see them in paper bags. The courtyard has a pleasant atmosphere with visiting birds hoping to be fed a titbit. Staff are efficient and friendly. It cost £50 for the 4 of us to have snacks and drinks.

Served by 2 disgruntled members of staff moaning about having been there for 5 hours. Terrible service and attitud,we were obviously in the way. Feel sorry for people if they expect a smile or pleasantly this was noticeably lacking.Also fed upwith having chocolate spinkle thrown all over my saucer. Very disappointing.unfriendly.

During school holidays, one person serving is a recipe for long queues of hot, fed up customers. The servery is a real choke-point at any time, so when busy it is almost not worth the effort. We live locally and it’s been this way for some time.
