The Platform

We travel to various venues all over the Country to follow The Men They Couldn't Hang. Have done for over 35 year's. This was one of the best. Amazing architecture, atmosphere and acoustics situated right on the front near the sea and close to the Centre Morecambe. Good facilities and really friendly staff worth mentioning as well. It's Council run and unfortunately is facing closure due to finances and lack of support which would be so sad.

Decent venue for a smallish gig. Nice space. Lots of people up and enjoying themselves dancing. No massive queues for the bar.

Superb venue to see live music. Fabulous night seeing Limehouse Lizzy in January. Two bars as well and not rip off prices either. Excellent organisation and friendly staff. Can't wait to return.

Watched a brilliant Spanish guitarist perform solo. Enjoyed every minute of it. The venue has lots of charm and history. Great events place but chairs uncomfortable and definitely could do with better seating arrangements and alternative.

Great night at this venue. Friendly staff, decent bars. A credit to Morecambe.

The platform is a brilliant music venue. Unfortunately the council will be shutting it down from April. I went two weeks ago on a cold night,and they didn't even have the heating on.Everyone sat there in puffa jackets,watching the excellent band in the cold. So obvious what the council is doing. Trying to run it down,by stealth. They assured us when they shut the Dome down,that the Platform could take over. But obviously they speak with a forked tongue. Surely the information bureau, and platform will fit in with the Eden Centre. Or perhaps as rumoured, it will become another restaurant?

Went to see a free concert of 3 acts. Good music, well laid out tables and chairs, drinks and snacks available and toilets. Only gripe was the icy draught coming in on my back so had to put my coat back on. Would recommend a visit

Fantastic show spoilt by cramped seats and noisy people due to 2 bars in room.Bigger venue needed.
