Mossend Surgery

My first ever negative review. Have to phone multiple times because no one answers, and when you do finally get through to someone it’s always this rude woman with no people skills whatsoever. It’s also very infuriating how I have to wait 2-3 weeks for a telephone appointment and then a further couple of weeks to then go for a face-to-face appointment which should have just happened in the first place. I am relatively healthy and rarely ever visit a doctors which is why I’m even more angry because I feel so bad for the people that are ill and only have this place to depend on. You shouldn’t ever have to feel like you’re inconveniencing others but the receptionist here clearly thinks otherwise.

Helpful staff made my visit very easy and felt it was a well organised place. My Doc is one of the best (dr lyndsay). Staff are cool.

Very anti human place. Rarely has anyone inside apart from a receptionist. Horrible loud buzzing noise inside waiting area, I swear this is designed to give headaches out for free.

Becoming more and more frustrated with this surgery. I understand it's extremely busy but patients medication is on repeat because they need it. If there is an issue with a request why not let people know? Don't wait until I chase it after ignoring me and then tell me I need to make an appointment for a BP check. Got 5 tablets left and almost 2 weeks to wait for an appointment. Frustrated phone call coming tomorrow.

Have been with this surgery for 45 yrs ,can’t believe the treatment you get now called 93 times from 8.30 to 9 then was told all appointment are gone the staff member that day was very rude and unprofessional

Mossend Surgery took almost 200 calls over 30mins to then be put on hold for ten minutes to be told all appointments where gone luckily I know how deadly my illness can be if left untreated and once explained I was told I'd get a call back later in the day.. but honestly the fight to speak to a gp puts me off calling unless I really have to putting my life at risk. I have been with the surgery since 2020 and only this week was I finally offered a face to face appointment but would be nurse not gp unfortunately I was to ill so had to take phone call appointment. Reception staff still better than ones at health centre John Street but still a put off and been in tears begging to speak to gp before. If it's urgent best trying hospital than local gp surgery as you have more chance wining lottery than seeing gp.

Tried getting through to the surgery today from 8.30 for an urgent appointment but didn't get to speak to anyone until 10am only to be told there is none left? And a pre booked appointment takes 3 weeks to get one??When will things go back to a normal service?

It takes 100 calls between 8.30 and 9.00 just to get a phone appointment with the doctors and then you need to wait all day not knowing when they’ll phone. This is especially difficult when you need to speak with the doctor just to get the nurse to see you for a repeat prescription or blood taken etc. I was also told by the doctor to wait and see if my excruciating pain was just gas but I actually had a bad infection/illness for weeks and they didn’t assist me at all. I had no antibiotics and had to miss weeks of work.

Excellent, quick and clean surgery: Dr were extremely helpful and you can get a face to face appointment by calling.
