We arrived at the very last minute for lunch orders but were warmly welcomed and accommodated without feeling rushed. Food is exquisite, and the service is second to none. The atmosphere is amazing... if they did rooms, we would have stayed...!! Can't wait to return.... oh... and absolute bonus, they have a dog friendly area.

Had booked for Snug with dogs. Decided to just go as couple, so we were offered the option to eat in the restaurant. Had a Sunday lunch which was excellent and very tasty. £25 each including a large glass of wine each!

OMG! I would highly recommend here. I went today with my Wife and kids, my wife and I got the roast platter with cauliflower cheese on the side all of which was seriously tasty. Good quality food and cooked to perfection. We all had sticky toffee pudding with ice cream.100% recommend

Our first time here in over 30 years (I moved away a long time ago and back more recently), and have to say, it was lovely. The food delicious (see pics!) and the staff attentive and friendly.Plus points.... the staff, really good locally sourced ingredients, cooked to perfection and a very laid back evening. No one pressures you to have more or to leave when finished as often happens in other establishments. Perfectly paced.Negative points... well there are alwqys negatives but to be fair these are real nit picks. When we arrived we were asked to eat at the bar and order drinks. When we did the very pleasant bar man suggested we sit and he'd come take our order. Unfortunately he got sidetracked and this never happened. When the Maitre De came to escort us to our table he asked and was very surprised when we said we didn't have drinks. So, to complete, an excellent evening lovely staff, excellent food and a really good time.Would I go again? In a heartbeat. Yes.Great 'new' find ❤️

Very underwhelming, had the Sunday roast sharing platter, no celeriac mash, as stated on the menu, Yorkshires on the side of burnt, beef not great, very chewy. I'm not sure how you cook cabbage wrongly but it was and that again was chewy. Don't order soda water with your wine as I do (the bill stated 70p for a 'spot of soda'! far nicer places out there to eat, won't be back

A very warm and friendly welcome and helpful staff. There was a real fire in the bar area which really added to the relaxed and comfortable feel.A great choice of beers and other drinks. The food is really very good indeed with a good choice of dishes and high quality cooking.I had the root vegetable and butter bean terrine with harissa and it was one of the most enjoyable plant based dishes that I've eaten outside home in a long time.

Underwhelming. Visited due to recommendations from friends. Had a table booked for 5pm. Arrived on time to be told the table wasn’t ready (with no apology)and asked to take a seat in the bar area, of which there were none available. Had to stand in the middle of a busy bar with an 18 month old. As we sat at the table once it was ready, we were told 2/3 mains were unavailable so choices were more limited than usual. I then ordered some halloumi to start, this wasn’t available either and I didn’t fancy any others so missed a course.I ordered the beef burger for a main which was okay, priced steeply for what it was. Partner had the chicken roast and the little one had the goujons which they both liked. Nobody came to ask if the food was okay at any point.Following the main we asked for dessert menus which never came so we just asked for the bill, couldn’t afford to wait all night with a young child. The card machine was brought over for the bill much much faster than the dessert menus, make of that what you will.A shame really, only thing that was above usual pub grub was the price, which the food didn’t really warrant all in all. As we left we passed several members of staff, none of which said thank you or goodbye. Won’t be rushing back.

We enjoyed our meal and the staff was excellent. The car park was very busy so we had to park around the corner, easy enough tho. As much as I enjoyed the food and it was very good quality I wouldn't have a dessert next time as I found it very expensive for the size. I do however recommend the prawns to start and the chicken burger.

We had a pre booked table for 7 people. We were asked to pre-order food (I guessed so they could make sure everything was in stock). We turned up and the first thing to be mentioned was that 3 out of 7 of us would need to change our request of dessert as they only had 1 manchester tart. They said we could choose after our main course though. When drinks were placed on the table, the waiters seemed like they were in a rush, as the drinks spilt slightly on the table, leaving it sticky. We mentioned this to a member of staff, who said they'd clean it right away... no-one ever did that. All the starters and main courses were amazing, no-one could fault any of the food, the plates were taken away slowly and afterwards we were asked if we'd like to see the dessert menu. We, of course, said yes and waited 30 minutes, to which the staff seemed to have forgotten we were there (bare in mind we were 1 of maybe 5 tables at the time). We then decided to look online for the menu as it didn't seem like it was going to come. I then went to the till to request that someone took our order. They apologised and came straight over. When the food started to come to the table (approximately 20 minutes later), the waiter realised no cutlery was ever given out, so went to get some.Overall, the food was great. Sadly, the service was substandard. Hopefully, this is rectified so the service compliments the food. You haven't lost us as customers but it'd be nice to see some changes (maybe some sort of senior waiter to keep things running smoothly).

Great food menu with plenty choice for most pallets. There’s also a wide drinks menu. This is all set in a lovely dining area with a separate bar.
