Goddard as an animal hospital exploits its customers for money.I once took my cat in for emergency and had an appointment for 7pm. We weren't seen till after 10pm, did you know that after 10pm they will automatically charge you £40 and bill you this extra money for absolutely no reason? Because they do this and god knows who enforces and encourages such exploitative policies, it's disgusting!!! They make us wait for hours to bill us AN EXTRA £40.I emailed and phoned them regarding an injury my cat sustained, the Irish male receptionist TOOK AN HOUR to call me back and said that 'it isn't serious we (the vet) can't see anything wrong'. Guess what? My cat had an infected wound which could have spread.Receptionists sometimes leave the desk for over an hour unattended. There are customers who are worried about their pet and it's honestly not a good atmosphere where their receptionists who work in the evening are very unprofessional and loud. Some of those pets are in pain and don't need a loud environment especially from staff! At one time I was finished with an appointment and there was nowhere for me and my cat to sit. It would be nice if they had more cat seating areas considering the dog area has an extra space.I took my cat outside because the noise was unbearable. A vet or nurse then came out and said it is 'distressing' for my cat to be outside because of the noise of the cars. No it isn't because we are not on an open road. Either way if you care so much, make the waiting area quiet so I can sit with my cat.A receptionist also told me to 'lock my cat up for 3 days in the bathroom' because he isn't litter trained. Honestly, I was appalled, some of them clearly have never owned a pet so they are more than happy to recommend abusive ways.A dog also peed blood on the floor and the pet owner was crying someone came to triage and said I know it looks bad but it honestly isn't." Her dog was vomiting and bleeding. They made her wait over an hour to see a vet."

The vets, nurses and emergency hours receptionists on Sunday were great. The receptionists on Monday when I went to collect my dog were rude and ignorant. One whom was serving me had the cheek to moan because I asked to see an itemisation of my bill. Like, what?! Then tried to book a follow up appointment for him and was completely ignored by them; they were not serving anybody might I add.

If your pet needs an urgent scan please consider to bring it somewhere else as they only do scans some days per week in specific hours and scans are no guarantee due to reduced available slots. This can lead to more days of hospitalisation without a diagnosis and waste of precious time. Unfortunately, this was the case of our beloved dog who couldn't make it.

I found the staff to be very rude , unprofessional argumentive .They very quick to send a letter saying I was rude, and such behaviour wouldn’t be accepted ; and to find alternative careThey don’t care about animals as wouldn’t see my dog until it was investigated , when they made it sound like he needed his breathing done asap.Told me I needed urgent surgery on his breathing before they looked at the problem which was his legs .Got another opionion , as the service was terrible and they said it was choice for breathing and he could have a X-ray then go to cat scan not hit me with the biggest bill..He was so distressed after all day in a kennel waiting for the insurance /I wasn’t given the option to take him home and rebook either .I done all the chasing and still after 4 hours no one had bothered to contact me and they didn’t operate .The head nurse has gone to the top vet putting the blame on myself. No way would I take my dog back there, money makers who are in it for the money and not the animal .I had a very anxious distressed dog and I had to ask when e would be seen ..

We have been customers of Goddards Wanstead for many many years. This practice was once about the care of the animal has now become solely about profit and charging astronomical fees for not much return. They prescribe solutions that benefit their bank balance only. Even establishments such as the RVC veterinary hospital have seriously questioned their decisions and ethics when our cat was referred there. The customer service is appalling. There is always a cold welcome at best and the receptionists usually ignore you for the best part. We were 5 minutes late for an appointment (one that I waited 3 weeks for) and as such they refused to see us. Despite our cat being extremely nervous, knowing it was a huge effort to get him here (as with a lot of cats). We were not helped to rebook, only referred to the website. The receptionist didn’t even look at us.I cannot count the number of times I’d been kept seriously waiting at this clinic, and every time we graciously accept it as part of the course. But to not have it reciprocated for five minutes after years and years of service and thousands and thousands of pounds spent. We have finally made the over due decision to leave this practice and never return. Our cat deserves better

Wouldn't advise this practice. There is little care or outreach. You never see the same vet. Multiple mistakes made in the care of my cat after he suffered a severe injury. They misdiagnosed a kidney problem causing great distress. In addition they are happy to take monthly payments for pet plan but then give no notice that they are unable to provide annual vaccine. At no point do they demonstrate empathy or compassion it is just a money machine.

On this day last year our Toby collapsed early in the morning, we had to take him to an emergency vets as it was out of hours and this was the first place we went to. We carried him in and the staff were so considerate and very helpful. After talking through his symptoms and having tests done, we found out that an undetectable cancer was present and it had made him severely ill. The vet we had talked us through our options and was very empathetic about the whole situation. We had to make an unbearable decision that day that no pet owner should ever have to make, but he couldn't have been in a better place. I want to say thank you to Charles who was the vet, as tough as the situation was you made it that little bit easier to manage. Your empathy and kindness that morning will forever be appreciated. Also thank you to reception who helped with the arrangements for our baby's cremation. We're thankful for everything that the staff did for us that day ❤️

CAREFUL: FLEAS!Goddard's policy is now asking all pets with fleas to attend the clinic in-person for the clinic to prescribe flea treatment (most likely spot on treatment). If your pet doesn't have fleas, you're exposing your pet to fleas by simply going there. From the reviews, it seems Goddard is in a great business-making situation for flea treatment prescriptions. It's an endless revolving door profit making machine.Needless to say, I brought my beloved cat there and returned with fleas.A disaster for the house. Don't wish it on my worst enemy. Goddard's brushed the flea infestation aside as the onus is the on pet owner

Thank you Louise and your team!!Goddard Wanstead has been outstanding with looking after our cat Otto, who has been poorly. Their care and compassion have been outstanding not only to Otto but to us. Seeing this team go above and beyond to look after our boy has been exceptional.Louise, the manager, is outstanding with her level of care, attention and knowledge. She has been our guardian angel and we cannot thank her enough for going above and beyond to help us and Otto. The admin team is professional and caring too.We have been clients since Otto was a kitten and I wouldn't trust anyone else with him.
