This is an amazing hardware shop. They sell an extraordinary wide range of products from chains to paint and vacuum cleaner bags to garden benches. All at competitive prices. A gem of a shop.

The staff here not as helpful and don’t treat you the same as the builders yard. Maybe it’s because I wasn’t wearing my Barbour jacket and white trousers ?Anyway I finally found what I needed after no help offered. I payed £8.99 (I think) for a silicone gun which really should cost around £2.99 as it’s the crappyist quality ever! I want go back unless absolutely desperate or just fancy mixing with the toffs for an hour!Only thing good is the convenience if your in Southwell.

Shop sells everything and staff fairly helpful.Don't make the mistake of parking outside to run in and collect something bulky. I got a parking ticket from a warden who said it was ok and because I was delayed in the shop for 5 minutes gave me a ticket!

Phoned today @ 5.15 to ask if they had some sand bags! I got there just as the door was locked! Not only did the gentlemen open up for me & had a pack of bags ready, but went into the back to get another pack for me! Excellent service many thanks!

Very helpful. Amazing stock. The staff are knowledgeable and (providing they're not too busy) seem willing to go the extra mile in giving advice.Highly recommended.

Always friendly; will take the trouble to help you find the right item even if only a single bolt. Good range of stock. Their loyalty card can save you quite a bit if you spend more than £10 at a time. Southwell is lucky to have this shop.

Extremely pleasant and helpful staff. Cut me some keys while I waited. Very happy and will definitely visit more often.

This is often referred to as the shop that sells everything. It's an old school emporium filled with DIY, gardening, cooking and generally useful stuff. It's a bit of a maze inside so hold hands or leave breadcrumbs. The kids could easily end up in Narnia if you don't keep an eye out. (They do make keys, so it can be arranged if you have reached the end of your tether though...secret code is to cry and rock in the corner near the bird seed). It's a local hardware store so of course some things are more than a big chain but the differences are obvious:1. Staff know where everything is.2. They know the price of almost everything.3. They can order what you need pretty quickly.4. They can advise on a fair few jobs.5. Got a paint mixer and all the other gubbins a B&Q would have (other massive and bland chains are available).6. They actually care and are interested.7. Don't have to drive to Newark or Nottingham - I try to stay north of the river and off the moors generally. In summary, a very decent local store that proves big chain stores and surfing the interfangle or asking friends" on face-mither for tips aren't always the answer."
