The Oro Distillery

Called in yesterday as we were in the area. We were met at the bar by a very welcoming young man. We sat as he shared the gin production process at the distillery and allowed us a few samples to get the palette moving. We had a great experience and can highly recommend a visit to Oro gin distillery. The gin and cocktails are great and the member of staff we met was outstanding.

My husband, parents and I had such a wonderful experience today at the distillery. As a gin drinker I was astounded at the depth of knowledge but also the attention to detail with regard to the formation of ORO gin. We had the privilege and pleasure of having a gin or two (or three) after the tour and again received a wealth of knowledge about each tipple. An educational experience made all the better with the inclusion of a wonderful gin. I'll certainly recommend this tour, and I'll definitely buy ORO again. Thank you guys! Keep up the excellent work.

Really nice place to have a drink. On a sunny day you can sit in the garden. Although we were there for a short while we really enjoyed the hospitality!

Fabulous afternoon spent on the tour of the distillery ( very informative) and afterwards tasting the products!! Highly recommend

Met the father and son team at Rugby School promoting Bigside Gin. Very knowledgeable and friendly. They went down as well as the Gin! Best Gin I've ever tasted! Definitely recommend.Goodluck with everything.

Amazing! My wife and I had tried the Oro gin before and it was the Michelin star quality equivalent in the gin world so we thought we’d visit. Did not disappoint. Customer service was above and beyond; even went and cooked us Bratwurst when the kitchen was closed...and they were sooo juicy and delicious even my hard to please wife loved them. I was about to write prices were very reasonable, but actually to be fair, prices were probably well below what they should be charging. I was expecting over £5 a pint as it was proper German and Japanese offerings on tap but it was Wetherspoons prices, which considering the high level of customer service, they could charge what they like and it would still be worth every penny. To sum it up, great gin, great scenery, great food, great prices, great service - what more could you want!

Nice wee place. Visited at the weekend for my Father-in-law's birthday.Although i don't drink gin, my wife assures me the selection was really good. Her highlight being the gin infused with chilli.Being able to drink a nice craft beer in the shape of the Founders All Day IPA, rather than the usual tasteless Tennants/Carling etc made a welcome change!The kitchen also provided us with a lovely selection of tapas to enjoy with our drinks

Can not stress enough how great this place is. Great drinks, great staff and the gin and rum they distill is simply divine. Please if you do anything this year, visit this bar!

Very disappointed with our visit we had booked for 16 ladies for a hen party treat all coming from different parts of the country we were trying to promote our local area as the bride is from Dumfries. On booking we were advised we would receive tapas with each drink, after ordering 16 cocktails which were nice they delivered 2 bowls of crisps and 2 bowls of nuts which the bride and bridesmaid are allergic to. When ordering our next round of cocktails we enquired about the tapas that are advertised on the drinks menu we were told they would see what they could find they then appeared with very minimal snacks ie 1 sausage roll cut into 8 slices 4 mini pizzas cut in half very disappointing to say the least
